FADE IN
Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 08:30
Waking up from a dream, Peter is visibly puzzled.
PETER (V.O): Chi-Ching? Who was she?
Peter sits up in bed, trying to recall the details.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Oh, right! She was my fan...
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): She'd sing my songs on stage with me.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): And that was some 10 years ago...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Why would her name come up to my mind on Christmas Day?
Act 2
INT. MTR - 10:30
Giving up his seat for a little GIRL and her MOTHER, Peter continues to have screen time.
PETER (V.O.): More Christmas greetings from old and new friends.
Peter reciprocates by sending AI drawings symbolising him playing the guitar around Christmas.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I associate Christmas with my singing songs and playing the guitar.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S CHRISTMAS ASSOCIATION
A. College variety shows, 1969-1970. Peter (15-16) sings "The End of the World" passionately and plays lead electric guitar in a band on stage.
B. Office Christmas parties, 2009 - 2013. Peter (56-59) plays electric bass guitar or electric rhythm guitar or sings his songs.
C. HKUST Christmas party, 2023. Peter (69) plays an acoustic rhythm guitar and sings his KT (Knowledge Transfer) song.
END MONTAGE
Peter sees a question: Is it an AI drawing?
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I can't draw, but I can prompt.
Having responded, we follow Peter to see on screen: Very impressive!
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): That's what AI is for.
Pater stares at the image in one greeting.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Even the AI expert is still using non-AI medium to communicate! Interesting, isn't it?
Peter then sees another remark on screen: We should keep well.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): He's my only former primary school classmate who is still in touch with me.
INT. LONDONER ARENA, MACAO - 19:30
Following his WIFE, younger DAUGHTER and her FRIEND, Peter appears.
PETER (V.O.): I don't mind joining the party to see Hin's concert here.
PETER: I actually had a brief encounter with him many years ago when he was little known.
The party look curious.
PETER (Cont'd): We're invited to officiate a function in a book shop.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd): He was then unsure if he'd ever become a famous singer-songwriter in Hong Kong.
Later, we hear the SINGER singing his songs in a full house.
PETER (V.O.): I'm a singer-songwriter too. But I started late.
Watching attentively.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): He has a great voice. There's no way I can sing like him.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But my songs have takeaway messages, not just silly love songs.
DAYDREAMING SEQUENCES
A. Instead of seeing Hin performing, Peter sees himself singing his songs on stage.
B. Later, we hear loud cheers and Peter does the Beatles bow to the AUDIENCE.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. HOTEL ROOM, MACAO - 25:00
From the veranda, we see the sky filling with twinkling stars.
PETER (V.O): That I dreamt of the name Chi-ching reminds of the impact others have made in my life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): On ArtTech, I open myself to new possibilities and get surprising and impressive outcomes.
Gazing at the stars.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Taking the time to relive past experiences with loved ones and daydream about possibilities does bring a happy holiday.
