A Harmonious Fusion

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 12:15

  4. Driving his silver coupe, PETER sees the half sunny and half cloudy sky from the windscreen.

  5. PETER (V.O.): There will be thunderstorms in the afternoon.

  6. Driving.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I just want to act timely so that I can swim in the sea.

  8. Driving.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was quite busy for the past fortnight.

  10. Driving.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe I need to jump start my coupes in my NT home.

  12. Peter takes a side road towards Golden Beach.

  13. Act 2

  14. EXT. CAR PARK, GOLDEN BEACH - CONTINUOUS

  15. Having parked his coupe, Peter takes a photo of it.

  16. PETER (V.O.): It's fortunate that I can still drive it.

  17. Pausing.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There was something wrong with its Engine Control Unit.

  19. Recalling.

  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If it couldn't be fixed, it can't be driven at all.

  21. Pausing.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's expensive to save it. But I'm happy.

  23. EXT. PETER'S NT HOME - 14:45

  24. Driveway with two cars. Peter gets inside a blue SMART.

  25. PETER (V.O.): See it can start.

  26. As Peter switches a key, the starter motor cranks a little but the engine won't turn over.

  27. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh dear! It's a cumbersome task to jump-start it.

  28. We see Peter lifting the carpet of the passenger side, taking away an emergency kit to expose the battery.

  29. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The first time I did it, it was very difficult. Now, I'm quite experienced.

  30. Bringing in a mini jump-starter, Peter hooks the red clamp to the positive terminal and then the black clamp to the negative terminal of the car's battery.

  31. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Connected.

  32. Peter starts the car and its engine turns over. Peter removes the connections in reverse order.

  33. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let me jump-start the red coupe at the back.

  34. Opening the coupe's bonnet, Peter repeats the jump-start process. We hear the engine turning over.

  35. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Done!

  36. INT. SITTING ROOM - 17:00

  37. Peter is listening to oldies.

  38. PETER (V.O.): Today, I've managed three cars - something I longed to do for many days.

  39. Thinking.

  40. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let me use cubism art to make an AI drawing.

  41. Tapping NightCafe Creater on his phone screen, Peter inputs his instructions. Soon, we see an AI drawing appearing.

  42. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): This is an all-in-one silver-blue-and-red coupe...

  43. Appreciating.

  44. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I love the colourful abstract and geometric forms.

  45. Appreciating.

  46. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Through fragmentation and reassembly of objects, cubism art creates a new and unique perspective of reality.

  47. Appreciating.

  48. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The AI drawing goes beyond my traditional notions of what my coupes should look like.

  49. Thinking.

  50. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm disappointed that it doesn't feature a battery or an engine.

  51. Imagining.

  52. Act 3

  53. EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 20:15

  54. Driving his red coupe in the fast lane, Peter sees the bright full moon in the clear sky from the windscreen.

  55. PETER (V.O.): So beautiful - it merges light and shadow, night and day.

  56. Thinking.

  57. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The full moon and the AI drawing represent a harmonious fusion of different elements.

  58. Thinking.

  59. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): They challenge my assumptions in a timeless and creative fashion.

  60. FADE OUT

  61. THE END
