FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - 22:30 (Yesterday)
PETER is watching TV news stories. A MAN on screen describes how he witnessed the captives climbing up to the top of a deserted container to escape from their kidnapper.
PETER: The victims are smart.
Then, we see on screen images of the Tsimshatsui's clock tower and hear bell ringing sounds.
PETER (V.O.): The last time it rang was in 1951. I wasn't born yet.
We continue to hear someone reporting: The ringing stopped because the tower's motored-clocks and the chimes had gone out of synchronization.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Everything happens for a reason.
DREAM SEQUENCE
A. Somewhere in time. A voice tells Peter that the time here isn't synchronized with the time elsewhere.
B. Climbing up to the roof of a village hut, Peter is gliding down like a kite.
END SEQUENCE
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - 07:00
Peter wakes up.
PETER (V.O.): Crash landing scares me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm a dream chaser. But not a risk taker.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Without taking risk, I don't know how many opportunities I've let go.
After doing his routines, Peter checks phone notifications.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, today is Uncle Jimmy's birthday.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): If Uncle Jimmy didn't pass away early this year, he should turn 78.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd):The last time we saw each other was in July 2018 when he and his family were visiting Hong Kong and were staying in the Park Hotel.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): When Uncle Jimmy was a teenager, whenever he took the train from Tsimshatsui back to NT and saw the Park Hotel, he thought he wouldn't have a chance to check in there.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Without any US connections, Uncle Jimmy took the risk, made his way to US. Subsequently, he became a pharmacist and had his pharmacy.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I swam in his LA home's swimming pool a couple of times.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Following his example, I also bought a Mercedes.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Uncle Jimmy sang and danced very well too.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): More importantly, he had a very loving family. And they're all very nice people.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Talking about nice people, I've a separate story to tell. One day in 1975...
FLASHBACK
INT. TSIMSHATSUI RAILWAY TERMINAL - DAY (1975)
Peter (21) sits alone on the stairs looking loss. A GROUP of very nice people approach him.
GROUP HEAD: We're the Children of God. We live in a commune lifestyle...
PETER: My former classmates and I live like that too...
GROUP HEAD: We share anything. God is love and love is sex. There're no limits in loving each other. Just join us!
PETER: Now? Let me think about it and come back to you days later.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When we met again, we had deep discussions. They gave me nice things like the lyrics of American Pie. But I insisted that I had other priorities.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 22:30
Watching TV news story, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Although I wasn't a comfort seeker, I wasn't a rule breaker either. What if I took the risk and became one of the Children of God?
Pondering, Peter takes a look of the red numerals on his smartphone screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's only in mid-September this year that I began to take financial risk.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I doubt if it leads to a good life. Anyhow, I'm prepared to face the consequences.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Uncle Jimmy didn't settle for less then he deserved. He succeeded handsomely.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):He wasn't born a legend, he created one himself.
