Act 1
INT. KITCHEN - 16:30
PETER is cutting some ginger and lemon slices.
PETER (V.O.) : Now, I've the urge to make my healthy drink.
Peter gets some wolfberries and red dates from packets.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today is Friday; but I feel I've lost all the other week days.
Peter puts a few cups of water into an electric kettle.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, my son is coming home for dinner tonight.
After putting the ginger and lemon slices, wolfberries and red dates into the kettle, Peter presses the "On" button.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While buying a ripe papaya, I've also bought 1 Kg of Malaysian honey.
Peter takes a look of the honey in a plastic container.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. ESTATE STREET - 08:45
Passing bay. Peter waits at the driver seat of a cyber-green New Beetle.
PETER (V.O.): Today is the first time of the week when I can drive up the car from the car park for my wife.
Seeing his WIFE approaching, Peter gets out of the car and then watches her wife driving off.
INT. STUDY - 10:00
Seeing an incoming phone message: Your stock order has been fully executed, Peter checks the details.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, I bought the shares at the asking price. I didn't recheck my order. Never mind.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe the listed company managing the estate mall is making good profits. I want to share some of it.
Smart phone in hand, Peter reads some answer requests on Quora. He then surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Some Quorans pose me questions on philosophy. I need to refresh my knowledge before replying.
Peter reads on screen the philosophy of Gabriel Mercel.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I now know Mercel's concept or method to uncover the truths of the human condition.
Picking a book on Michel Foucault from a pile of books near him, Peter studies it.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Okay, ontological freedom is a pure type - like "all are born free", while existential freedom is our inner capacity to choose, despite external constraints.
Lying down on a sofa, Peter takes a rest.
INT. MALL RESTAURANT - 14:30
Peter is enjoying a bowl of noodles in soup and a honey drink.
PETER (V.O.): Finishing my tea set, I'll go to the supermarket to buy papayas and a bottle of honey.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I meant to send my gardener a paycheck at the beginning of the month.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S FOLLOW-UP ACTIONS
A. Study. 15:00. Peter writes a cheque.
B. Street letterbox. 15:15. Peter posts a letter.
C. Supermarket#1. 15:30. Peter can only find raw papayas.
D. MTR Entrance. 15:45. Peter checks the fruits being offered for sale by a mobile hawker.
E. Supermarket#2, 16:00. Peter sees no papayas at the fruits section.
F. Supermarket#3, 16:15. Peter pays for a ripe papaya and a container of honey.
END MONTAGE
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My son likes papayas. It's the result of my nurture.
Opening a fridge, Peter touches the ripe papaya.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's cool. My son will join a prestigious law firm next week.
END FLASHBACK
Holding the honey plastic container tight, Peter tries to open the lid but without success.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's from Malaysia. I used to travel there to visit my friends, but I've never bought any honey home.
Trying hard again, Peter succeeds. Soon, he sees a cut finger bleeding.
Act 3
INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
Peter is using a purple band-aid to cover the finger wound.
PETER (V.O.): Looks good. But I can't go swimming.
Using a spoon to sample the honey, Peter looks pleased.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To me, it's the simple things in life that are real and extraordinary.
Pouring out the drink from the kettle to cups, Peter adds a few spoonfuls of honey to each.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Tonight, we'll have a simple celebration.
