FADE IN
Act 1
INT. LIVINGROOM/KITCHEN, PETER'S NT HOME - 16:30
Hearing birds singing, PETER goes to the kitchen, looks out of the window and sees none in the backyard.
PETER (V.O.): They must be talking high up in the trees.
Peter focuses on boxes of rice and a baby sweet corn under an empty LPG shelter in the backyard.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've replenished the food after finishing my afternoon tea set at home.
Having taken an ice lolly from the fridge, Peter returns to the living room.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love to eat in lakeside restaurants. But today, I want to share food with the pigeon if it returns.
Hearing some sounds from the backyard, Peter returns to the kitchen and looks out from the window again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the baby sweet corn has been pecked.
From an internet radio, we hear Elton John's song "Someone saved my life tonight".
PETER (V.O.): Could it be done by the injured pigeon that took shelter here last week?
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 20:15 (August 31, 2023)
Driving a silver coupe. Peter observes the dark scene ahead.
PETER (V.O.): I hoped to see the super blue moon on the horizon now, but it's being shielded by clouds.
Raindrops begin to fall on the car's windshield.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's okay. I feel good that I've done something for an injured pigeon taking shelter at the backyard of my NT home.
INT. LIVING ROOM - 22:00 (Sept 1, 2023)
Wind howling.
PETER (V.O.): The super typhoon is raging. I've a deep sense of empathy for the injured pigeon.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can imagine it's huddling and shivering in a dark corner of the shelter, getting quite wet.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): However, it doesn't have to worry about food. I've placed a box of sweet corns and bread slices in the shelter.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I just hope the shelter won't get flooded...
EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 12:30 (Today)
Driving a silver coupe.
PETER (V.O.): It's only today that I can go back to my NT home.
Driving.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm eager to check on the injured pigeon.
EXT. GOLDEN BAY - 13.30
Swimming zone. Peter is swimming at the outer limit.
PETER (V.O.): The water is very clear. I've no problem to endure the occasional rough waters.
Later at the beach, Peter checks on the LIFEGUARD inside a tower.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): His and other lifeguards' care boost my confidence.
EXT. PUBLIC CAR PARK - 13:50
Walking towards his coupe, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): I'm going to face the music.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I'm home, the injured pigeon may or may not be in the backyard.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If the injured pigeon isn't there, it may have recovered and flown away...
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My gardener should have noticed the box of food and the cup of water in the shelter, he wouldn't throw anything away...
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If the injured pigeon is there, it may not have recovered; or it may have died.
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
INT. KITCHEN/LIVING ROOM, PETER'S NT HOME - 19:30
Having input the prompt: "A Song of Caring" in an AI art generator in his smartphone, Peter sees a cubist image appearing.
PETER (V.O.): Like a song, I've got a sense of empathy, tenderness and warmth here before and after the super typhoon.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Emotive acts of caring can be communicated like a song which transcends linguistic barriers.
Reflecting
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): More importantly, a song of caring bridges divides, bringing beings together, uplifting both recipients and givers.
