Sharing breakfast with KAJI, the family pet, PETER reads a FB post suggested to him.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, a Hong Kong film star has passed away. He was 88.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While working in the Castle Peak Hotel in the late 1960s, I served many film stars.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The suggested post also includes a list of actors/actresses who're in their 80s or above.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the actor who wouldn't mind to chat with me on a set is still alive! He's 99.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, I was 15; and he was... 45! I believe he's aging gracefully.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. RECEPTION - DAY (1987)
Peter (33) is having a chat with a GENTLEMAN.
PETER:...I can hear your wise words...
GENTLEMAN: I look young. But I'm quite old - aged 45 already...
PETER (V.O.): 12 years older than me? You're quite old.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was still with Govt, I thought those who had retired or were still working in their 60s were quite old.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): By aging gracefully, I mean the process of growing older in a positive and healthy fashion.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): One should accept the natural changes that come with aging, while also take steps to maintain a good quality of life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Aging gracefully isn't about trying to look or act younger than one's age.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Working in retirement now, I've enough sleep, I eat healthily and I engage in social activities.
INT. HIGHT COURT LIBRARY - 11:00
Quiet. Peter is the only soul reading thick books.
PETER (V.O.): Here, I don't have any peer pressure.
Later, Peter looks tired.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But a lawyer's life can't be non-stressful. No preparation is ever enough.
INT. FAMILIES CLINIC - 14:15
Pharmacy waiting area. Peter checks his AI drawing depicting a doctor and a white-haired patient.
PETER (V.O.): I always input "white-haired" - a sign of aging.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Earlier, a friend of mine suggested that I should dye my hair.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since the pandemic, I've stopped doing that as my wife accepted that I wouldn't look young anyway.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I know my look has changed a lot. I accept it.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): However, my feel, especially my confidence, hasn't.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Just then, the doctor has suggested that I'd monitor my blood pressure.
Researching with smart phone, Peter reads the result.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): One of the causes is "over 65".
Act 3
INT. DINING ROOM - 21:30
While having dinner with his FAMILY, Peter eats seafood and vegetables.
PETER (V.O.) : I'm obsessed with creating stuff that makes me happy. I'm still moving forward enthusiastically with life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I embrace the experience and wisdom that come with age. I'm aging gracefully and gratefully.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Adapting to the inevitable changes, I want to live my life to the fullest at any age.
