FADE IN
Act 1
INT. STUDIO - 10:00
PETER is reading Quora Digest on screen: Has Elvis Presley met Dolly Parton...Nope...
PETER (V.O.): Elvis Presley indicated that he wanted to cover the song "I Will Always Love You."
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's a distinctive love song. I haven't investigated who wrote it.
Surfing the web with his smart phone, Peter reads the search result.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The song was composed by Dolly Parton in 1973 and the record was released in 1974.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 1973, I was busy preparing for my HKU matriculation exams. In 1974, the same, except that I was teaching full-time at Pau Kau Secondary School.
Grabbing a white electric bass guitar, Peter plays some bass notes.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When Whitley Houston's version was released in Nov 1992, I was like living in hell.

Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 2011, I wrote a love song called "I Dream of You." It got just two verses.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I loved the tune. I performed the song in public many times and my audience loved it too.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Later, a music professor friend remarked that the song wasn't complete.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I had no idea how to perfect the song until Jan 2017. I added a chorus to it.
Taping a video clip icon on screen, Peter watches Dolly Parton's original version of "I Will Always Love You."
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It has three verses and a chorus. A part of the third verse is a soliloquy.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The soliloquy reminds me of Herman's Hermit's number of "I'll Never Dance Again".
Peter then taps another video clip icon to watch Whitley Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You."
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The first verse has become a distinctive a cappella intro. And the soul ballad has become more captivating.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I sing my songs. I also encourage others to sing along with me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe my songs would sound better with arrangements.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But my value is to promote creativity and originality - if I can do it, so can you!
Seeing a related link, Peter taps it to read the texts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The song was written as a farewell to the composer's business partner and mentor.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 1992, the song was used as one of the feature songs in the film "The Bodyguard".
Peter watches scenes of The Bodyguard on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's professional, although it's drama.
Peter plays some bass fills.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't watch the movie. In the latter part of 1992, I was very depressed. All I wanted was to stay close to my son.
Act 3
INT. CLUB HOUSE - 20:00
Sitting on a sofa, Peter is again watching Dolly Parton's version of "I Will Always Love You".
PETER (V.O.): When the song was written, I believe Dolly Parton must be in a deep songwriting mood.
Peter reads the song's lyrics on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She was smart not to sign off half of her publishing rights if Elvis Presley was to cover the song.
Peter is watching Whitney Houston's version again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whitney's Houston's rendition of the song is superb. I especially love the part "And I..."
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My trilingual song "I Dream of You" isn't bad. It may become popular in future.
