Act 1
EXT. ROADS - 07:50
Driving a cyber green New Beetle, PETER switches on the car's rain wipers.
PETER (V.O.): Another rainy day.
Waiting in a parking bay, Peter gets out to lift the car boot. He sees a white umbrella and a small Thomas-the-Tank-Engine umbrella inside.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wonder if our doctor-to-be son would remember his umbrella.
Then, Peter's WIFE appears and takes the driver seat.
WIFE: Have you got an umbrella?
PETER: No. But there're two in the car boot. I'll use the Thomas-the-Tank-Engine one.
WIFE: It's a kid's umbrella. Take my white one.
Later, his wife parks the car on the G/F of the Lower Albert Road Government offices.
Act 2
EXT. CAR PARK - HONG KONG PARK - 08:30
Parting his wife, Peter stays in the covered area and doesn't go out in the pouring rain.
PETER (V.O.): Heavy rain reminds me of challenges in life.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 1985, when I was working here as Assistant Crown Counsel, I was too junior to be allocated a parking lot.
Peter gets his smart phone, checks Quora and types, monitoring the rain from time to time.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The nice thing about heavy rain is that it'd become moderate.
Opening a white umbrella later, Peter walks towards Cheung Kong Park.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must be very careful as I don't want to get my shoes wet. I plan to spend time in the High Court Library.
Walking past Hotel Murray, Peter enters a pedestrian subway, not knowing it is fully flooded.
PETER : Oh! No!
Stepping out of the water with wet shoes, Peter sees a sign: If the Subway is flooded. call...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, I won't call, it won't dry my wet shoes!
Peter walks near the Cotton Road Marriage Registry.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My second marriage ceremony took place here. Let me go to the gent's toilet to take off my wet socks.
Exiting from the toilet later, Peter strolls by a lake in the Hong Kong Park under light rain.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The sights look refreshing.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the late 1980s when I was working in the Queensway Government Offices, here was virgin land and I could park my car here.
Peter watches the fish swimming in the lake.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My friendly Uncle & Auntie from Malaysia liked the Hong Kong Park a lot. They used to visit my family annually.
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But they passed away several years ago.
Peter takes a look of a grey building on his left.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's the High Court Building. I was called to the Bar there in 1985.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Later, when I was legal Secretary to the Law Reform Commission's Copyright Sub-committee, I took the Judges' lift to visit the Chairman - Mr Justice Nazareth, as he then was.
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He also passed away several years ago.
INT. HIGH COURT LIBRARY - 10:30
A thick book in hand, Peter selects a corner to sit.
PETER (V.O.): A wave of nostalgia is sweeping over me. My office was right here before I joined the Intellectual Property Department.
Later, Peter stops reading the thick book.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel so cold and hungry. I can't read no more.
INT. CHAMBERS - 13:15
Entrance. A SECRETARY greets Peter.
SECRETARY: Oh, Mr Cheung, you come back on a rainy day?
Peter smiles a little, showing her his white umbrella.
PETER (V.O.): Going out in a rain day brings back lots of memories.
Act 3
EXT. ROADS - 14:00
Sitting in a front seat on the upper deck of a tram, Peter captures photos of the rainy scenes.
PETER (V.O.): Photography is a form of time travel.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I once visited a cheery tree park in Wuhan, when the sky was pouring.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Another nice thing about rain is that it always stops eventually.
Later, getting off the tram, Peter walks towards the Times Square without opening the umbrella.
