Driving a red coupe, PETER hears Ding! He pulls in a passing bay.
PETER (V.O.): I'm expecting to receive a formal invitation to speak from the Hong Kong Creative Industries Association.
Typing on screen, Peter sends his reply.
EXT. CAR PARK, GOLDEN BEACH - 12:35
Having parked his coupe, Peter checks phone messages.
PETER (V.O.): My reply has been acknowledged and the coordinator wishes me a wonderful world IP day!
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): How many people know April 26 is the World Intellectual Property (IP) Day?
Act 2
EXT. GOLDEN BEACH - 13:00
Peter is swimming in the sea.
PETER (V.O.): April 26 is the day on which the Convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) came into force. In 2000, member States designated April 26 as the World IP Day.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): China initiated the proposal. From Sept 1997 until Sept 2013, I was a delegate of the China delegation, engaging WIPO in Geneva.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This year, WIPO's theme is on "Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity."
FLASHBACK
INT. HONG KONG PALACE MUSEUM - NIGHT (YESTERDAY)
On a big screen, we see images of women in action. Later, a LADY delivers a keynote on stage.
PETER (V.O.): The professor inventor is the Associate Dean, Faculty of Medicine, CUHK.
Watching GUESTS around.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The percentage of women doing IP business isn't low.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Staff in Hong Kong's Intellectual Property Department (IPD) are mostly women.
Listening.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To be innovative - stuff that change the world scientifically or technically - is really hard.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I admire women who have inventive patents.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To be creative - literary and artistic expressions that are original - is relatively easy.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To showcase anyone can be creative, I've been showcasing myself via my literary, musical, dramatic and artistic works.
When the keynote ends, GUESTS engage. WOMEN#1,#2, #3 and MAN#1 interact with Peter.
WOMAN#1: How's your family?
WOMAN#2: You used to share your family stories with us.
PETER (V.O.): They're my former IPD colleagues. After IPD's X'mas party each year, I'd publish my family stories to all colleagues.
Chatting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, I'm sharing my diary to the world.
WOMAN#4: Are you still composing songs?
PETER: Yes, if there's a good reason...I feel frustrated if I don't come up with any.
WOMAN#4 then sings the opening verse of Peter's number "Do Good for You & Me".
PETER (V.O.): Branda is really smart. That's why she's leading all the Examiners.
BRANDA: Mr Cheung, you've even written a song entitled "World IP Day"...
Peter is at a lost, as Branda sings the song's chorus.
PETER: Oh, I've forgotten about that.
Later, when Peter leaves, he gets an IPD souvenir from a STAFF.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
EXT. ESTATE ROAD - HIGHWAY - 19:30
Having deposited a bag of documents at a corner, Peter gets inside a silver coupe.
PETER (V.O.): They're old IP stuff. I'm now willing to declutter them.
Peter drives past estate roads.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No one's future hasn't been written yet. Our future is whatever we make it.
Peter takes a turn to the highway.
PETER (V.O.): Putting my mind to my future, I'll continue to make it a creative one!
FADE OUT
