The TV is on. PETER is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Today is April Fool's Day. What will happen?
Peter takes a look of the Yahoo!Finance App on his smartphone screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, have I lost over $50,000 already?
Checking incoming images on WhatsApp, Peter looks excited.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wow! Scenic photos with Mount Fuji in the background.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A while ago, my elder son suggested my elder daughter to take a tour to Mount Fuji. But she remarked that she could see it from her office's toilet window.
Peter sees images of a lake-side train station and a Thomas the Tank Engine train car.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's travelling solo by train. My family travelled to the area either by a tourist coach or by a hired car.
Act 2
INT. RESTAURANT - 13:15
Waiting for his takeaway, Peter checks What'sApp messages.
PETER (V.O): My family members have also commented on my elder daughter's photos.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When my family was young, we travelled together most of the time.
SEQUENCE OF PETER'S FAMILY TRAVELLING EXPERIENCE
A. TOKYO, JAPAN - 1997. Toy shop. Being carried on the back of Peter's WIFE, their ELDER DAUGHTER (1) utters: Kit...ty, shocking Peter and his wife.
B. KOTA KINABALU, MALASIA - 2001. Beach. While family MEMBERS are enjoying water sports, Peter's ELDER SON suffers a head injury and gets a few surgical stitches afterwards.
C. WENGEN, SWITZERLAND - 2002. Alpine village. Their YOUNGER DAUGHTER (2) cutely sings: Doe, a deer, a female deer...Peter, his wife and PASSERS-BY are amazed.
D.CORNWALL, ENDLAND - 2004. Thomas the Tank Engine Museum. Seeing their YOUNGER SON (6) is mesmerized by Thomas and his Friends, Peter and his wife look content.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before the pandemic, I was usually in Honshu around this time of the season.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having first seen full Sakura blossoms in Japan 1994, I've developed the hobby to chase them every Spring.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Apart from various regions in Japan, I've watched cherry blossoms in Cambridge, UK and at Central Park, New York.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've also explored Alisan in Taiwan, Wuhan and Shandong in the Mainland.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've also visited Cheung Chau Island in Hong Kong to see a few small cherry trees there.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I once tried to plant cherry trees in my NT home but without success.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday, I had an ice cream drumstick with cherry colour and favour.
INT. STUDY - 15:00
Participating in a Zoom meeting, Peter checks incoming What'sApp images occasionally.
PETER (V.O.): Our elder daughter has just checked in a hot spring resort.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wow, there's an open-air hot spring bath tub in her room with Mount Fuji view!
After remarking on the images, Peter makes an intervention in his meeting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Communication technology has enabled people to interact in different spaces at more or less the same time.
Later, having left the Zoom meeting, Peter begins watching TV financial news.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The share price of a stock I owe has been falling. I now know that it's due to the decline of the smartphone market.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I bought the shares, I only knew the price and didn't know their value.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O)(Cont'd): If there aren't fools that lose money, others may not profit.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 23:00
The TV is on. Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O): My elder daughter has finished her free late-night Ramen. She must be enjoying the hot spring and gazing at the starry sky now.
Peter checks the Yahoo!Finance App on his smartphone screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My April Fool's Day gain ends up +$8880. But a fool's money isn't long in his pocket.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): April Fool's Day is a good reminder that what we may be on April 1, and on other days of the year.
Surfing the web, Peter finds something.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A Ukrainian proverb says: "If every fool wore a crown, we should all be kings."
