Dressed in a suit, PETER is putting papers into a brief case.
PETER (V.O.): I've been frantically busy for the past few days.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S PAST ACTIVITIES
A. HKCEC. Peter attends an AI conference attentively.
B. ATM/HOME. Peter withdraws a pile of Japanese Yen. Later, Peter passes them to SON#1 at home.
C. Club, hotel. Peter, SONS#1 and #2 are discussing during tea time.
D. Airport. Peter and his WIFE greet their elder DAUGHTER and her BOYFRIEND.
E. Reception. Peter mingles with FRIENDS enthusiastically.
F. Roads. Peter drives different PASSENGERS to different destinations in Kowloon, Hong Kong and NT.

INT. INTERVIEW ROOM - 09:30
Via a Wolof INTERPRETER, Peter explains the content of a document to his CLIENT.
PETER (V.O.): This is an easy job for me.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): From 1985-1986, I studied International Protection of Human Rights.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I was then working in the Attorney General's Chambers and had the guts to raise the issue with a Law Officer seconded from the UK Foreign Office.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Hong Kong, China's has a high standard of justice these days.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm fortunate enough to have opportunities to practise it in the last leg of my legal career.
INT. RESTAURANT - 12:30
Michellin-starred ambience.
PETER (V.O): Whenever I've discharged professional responsibilities nearby, I like to reward myself here.
Peter takes a moment to savour delicious Asian food.
INT. PHONE CABLES & SIM-CARD STORES - 13:45
Peter picks up a couple of phone charging cables and then two sim cards for use in Japan.
PETER (V.O.): I've just remembered that my younger son and his girlfriend will be travelling to Japan tomorrow...they'll need these...just in time.
INT. MTR - 14:00
Crowded. Peter checks a WhatsApp message in his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's from my guitar friend Ricky. He's a legend.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last Saturday, he promised to mentor "star-hopefuls" like me and my friends!
Peter types on screen energetically.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must seize the opportunity with both hands, keep up the momentum, and old dreams may still come true!
INT. HK CLUB BUILDING - 14:30
Meeting. After a presentation, Peter makes interventions.
PETER (V.O.): Searching for a talent has never been easy. I always like to find someone who is smarter than me...
INT. LIFT LOBBY - 17:15
Arriving, Peter is greeted by a CARETAKER.
CARETAKER: Mr Cheung, have you voted for "the best caretaker"?
PETER: I've been overwhelmed with this and that lately.
Checking a small poster, Peter sees: Deadline - 11 Dec 2023, 5pm.
PETER (Cont'd): OK, I'll vote before the deadline.
CARETAKER: But today is already 11 Dec 2023...
PETER: Already?
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 18:30
On Peter's smartphone screen, we see an animation AI drawing entitled "Balancing Act".
PETER (V.O): There's a delicate equilibrium among work, family and personal pursuits etc.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In maintaining the balance, I've to tackle challenges and resolve them with care and tact.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The world is a dynamic stage, and life is a great balancing act.
