INT. STUDY - 01:00
Warm lights over scattered papers. Fatigue is evident on PETER's face.
PETER (V.O): My wife and I have just flown back to Hong Kong from Akita via Tokyo.
Peter reaches for some papers.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I've a 9:30 am meeting with a client today. It was fixed while I was in Akita.
Stacking the papers, Peter puts them into a brief case.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Then, my wife and I would have lunch with Yan and Charles. I booked the table before flying out.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): And I've dental appontment at 4.pm. It was fixed a long time ago.
Peter glances at the clock.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Right now, I feel exhaustion pulling at me.
Act 2
EXT. LAW OFFICE/STREETS - 11:30
Carrying a brief case, Peter exits.
PETER (V.O): The case is done. I've exercised due diligence.
Peter walks along a street.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The secretariat knew that I flew back to Hong Kong last night.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It was fortunate that we neither missed the flight from Akita to Haneda nor experienced any delays in the snow-covered Akita.
Touching his hair.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I even had my hair cut in Haneda before going to Narita to board our flight back to Hong Kong.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My wife walked in a luxury store in Narita Airport but was very disappointed that the bag she wanted to buy wasn't available there.
Hearing ringtones, Peter checks the caller and answers it.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Well, a new assignment. No time is wasted,
INT. OLE RESTAURANT - 12:35
Peter joins his WIFE and a COUPLE at a cosy table.
PETER: It's been a year since we last met here...
They share a Spanish meal, engaging enthusiatically.
PETER (V.O): We appreciate our genuine connection, finding joy in the exchange of experiences.
INT. CHAMBERS - 15:00
Appearing, Peter is greeted by the SECRETARIES and a CHAMBERMATE.
PETER: Let me first settle my February rent.
PETER (V.O): There's no harm to pay early, particularly the Chinese New Year holidays are drawing near.
Peter presents a cheque to one of the secretaries.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Last month, I only remembered my obligation on the last day!
INT. DENTAL CLINIC - 16:00
Room. Peter sits in the dentist chair, looking somewhat anxious.
PETER (V.O): I haven't had my teeth checked by a dentist for a quite a while.
A DENTIST examines Peter's teeth thoroughly.
DENTIST: There's a cavity in one tooth. It has to be filled.
PETER: Okay.
DENTIST: But you've to fix another appointment. I'd only clean our teeth now.
PETER (V.O): I believe spacing out helps minimize discomfort...
As his teeth are being cleaned, Peter tenses up.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I try to distract myself by focusing on the overhead lights.
Later at the counter, Peter talks to a RECEPTIONIST.
PETER: I need an appointment to fill a cavity...do I have to wait for a year?
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - 21:15
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled: "Between Appointments..." to a draft in his laptop.
PETER (V.O): Events don't just happen, but arrive by appointments.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Between appointments, I strive to manage time, balancing work commitments with personal life.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I take care of my health, even when busy...I get my dental appointment at 2.pm tomorrow!
