  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDIO - 11:30

  4. Sitting in a worn-out chair, Peter begins to tap on the keys of a Clavinova.

  5. PETER (V.O.): In 1987, I suggested, and Sharon agreed, to buy this Clavinova.

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was an innovative musical instrument then. I thought it wouldn't be out of tune.

  8. Recalling.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When we're in the mood, she'd play the keyboard and I'd play the guitar and do the vocal.

  10. Pausing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): During home quarantines, I checked the untouched musical instruments at home.

  12. Peter begins to play the Intro of "Theme from a Summer Place".

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A year ago, I decided to learn to play the Theme on piano.

  14. Act 2

  15. EXT. GOLDEN BAY - 13:30

  16. Having deposited his belongings on the beach, Peter takes a look of the lifeguard inside a tower on the beach.

  17. PETER (V.O.): Me and my belongings are within his sight.

  18. Seeing a lifeguard stationing in a raft at the centre of the outer buoy line, Peter swims to the right hand corner.

  19. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The lifeguard is there to guard swimmers like me.

  20. Then, from the right hand corner, Peter swims past the lifeguard raft.

  21. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The lifeguard must know I'm around. Last Friday, I promised my music friends that I'd swim safe.

  22. Swimming.

  23. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A friend returning from LA asked me why I wasn't afraid of sharks.

  24. Swimming.

  25. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I should be afraid if there aren't shark nets in bays.

  26. Peter arrives at the left hand corner.

  27. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's a pianist. She has a Steinway grand in her home.

  28. Peter begins to swim back to the shore.

  29. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As I learn to play the piano, I begin to notice the difference in sounds from different brands.

  30. Swimming.

  31. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A music professor friend suggested that if I really wanted a grand, I could start off with a Yamaha.

  32. Pausing.

  33. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I thanked him but said that I was content to play the Clavinova and the Yamaha upright piano that Sharon played.

  34. INT. STUDIO, PETER'S NT HOME - 18:00

  35. Sitting at a Yamaha upright piano, Peter opens the fallboard.

  36. FLASHBACK

  37. INT. HOME - DAY (1979)

  38. Sitting at a Yamaha upright piano, Sharon (24) opens the fallboard and places her hands gently on the keys.

  39. PETER: Play "Theme from a Summer Place" for me.

  40. We see Sharon's fingers dancing across the keys as Peter (25) watches with admiration.

  41. PETER (V.O.): We're husband and wife. Sharon would do anything for me.

  42. Watching.

  43. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And there's no problem for her to make a living with music.

  44. END FLASHBACK

  45. PETER (V.O.): But her dedication to music education and choir conducing indirectly took her life in August 1992.

  46. As Peter begins to play the "Theme from a Summer Place" on piano, we hear the studio filling with music.

  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If there's the will, there's the way. I find solace that I can also play the song via this very piano, although it's out of tune now.

  48. Finishing, Peter plays the song again.

  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I like to imagine that Sharon is around, seeing and listening how I'm playing.

  52. Having input the prompt: "A man playing the piano" in an AI art generator, Peter sees a cubist image appearing.

  53. PETER (V.O.): This is one of my ways to bridge the past with the present.

  54. Pausing.

  55. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's the link from the present to the past that gives me the spirit to focus on the future.

  56. Pausing.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I predict my future by creating my dreams.

  58. Daydreaming.
