Building Blocks

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. BEDROOM - 09:15

  4. Waking up, PETER checks the time.

  5. PETER (V.O.): Have I sped up my jet lag recovery?

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Returning home, I've tried to forget the UK time zone and go to sleep soon after midnight.

  8. Pausing.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Night 1 was reasonably good, night 2 wasn't, and last night was wonderful.

  10. Reflecting.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My trip to England was eventful, even before getting off the plane.

  12. Act 2

  13. FLASHBACK

  14. INT. AIRCRAFT CABIN, HONG KONG - LONDON - NIGHT (4 Nov, 2022)

  15. Dark cabin. While picking up his eyeglasses, Peter notices something.

  16. PETER (V.O): Oh, a plastic support to one temple has gone! I might have torn it off when taking off my headset.

  17. Using his smart phone torch, Peter searches his seat and the floor.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, I can't see it... I've been to the toilet...

  19. As Peter searches the corridors, a WOMAN sitting behind Peter's seat notices that.

  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Not a trace of it. It was still intact when I left home.

  21. FLASHBACK UPON FLASHBACK

  22. INT. HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - NIGHT (Earlier)

  23. Security checkpoint. Peter inserts his identity card into a machine but there's no response. Peter takes off his eyeglasses.

  24. PETER (V.O.): Would it help the facial recognition system?

  25. END FLASHBACK UPON FLASHBACK

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was done in a rush. If the plastic support had come loose there, there's no way I can find it inside the cabin.

  27. Pausing.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What remains is only the emotional solution...

  29. Later, PASSENGERS sitting in Peter's vicinity begin to disembark.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must seize the last opportunity to search again.

  31. Peter's search catches the attention of a cabin SUPERVISOR.

  32. SUPERVISOR: Sir, have you lost something?

  33. Peter shows the supervisor his eyeglasses.

  34. PETER: I'm looking for the missing dark blue plastic support, like the one that is attached to one of the temples.

  35. Immediately, the supervisor directs a cabin CREW nearby to detach Peter's seat.

  36. PETER: Oh, the seat can be detached like that!

  37. We, and the woman, see Peter focusing on the armrest cavity.

  38. PETER (Joyfully): Oh, it's hiding here! I've found it!

  39. WOMAN (Happily): Really!

  40. Grabbing the dark blue plastic support with his fingers, Peter shows it to the woman, the crew and the supervisor.

  41. PETER: Thank you all!

  42. SUPERVISOR: It's something we should do.

  43. WOMAN: It's destined that you shouldn't disembark the plane without it!

  44. All smile. Peter checks the name badges of the supervisor and the crew.

  45. PETER (V.O.): Before recovering the missing part, I've tried to address my emotions by believing that I lost it even before embarking the plane.

  46. Reflecting.

  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): How wrong I was!

  48. RETURN TO PRESENT

  49. Act 3

  50. INT. BEDROOM - 23:30

  51. Peter takes off his eyeglasses.

  52. PETER (V.O.): At London Heathrow's Arrival Hall, I filed a compliment to the CX customer relations, thanking Mabel and Christine again.

  53. Pausing.

  54. PETER (V.O.): I know the significance of small actions - the quiet wins one gets and aggregates each day.

  55. Pausing.

  56. 'PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're the building blocks of the architecture of life, career or business.

  57. Pausing.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I always believe a series of small actions executed relentlessly should manifest their unlimited potential.

  59. Checking the time, Peter goes to bed.

  60. THE END

  61. FADE OUT
