Act 1
EXT. ROADS - 15:00
Sunny. PETER is driving his SMART car.
PETER (V.O.): Due to Hong Kong's social gathering restrictions, I didn't mean to go to my NT home today.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife is working at home. I want to give her some company.
Peter cuts a lane.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But she had to return to the office to get a new file. I know once she's in the office, she'll come home late, as usual.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A fortnight ago, this SMART was towed to my car-repairer as its dynamo was out of order.
Peter accelerates.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, it has been rejuvenated.
Act 2
EXT. PETER'S NT HOME - 16:10
Having parked his SMART on the road side, Peter stares at a red S13 and a silver Eunos 30X at the parking lane.
PETER (V.O.): After an overall, my S13 has become powerful again.
Walking past his S13, Peter gets inside his 30X.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My main purpose of coming back is to start this one.
FLASHBACK
INT. UNDERGROUND CAR PARK - DAY (A month ago)
Insider his 30X, Peter turns the ignition key. No sound.
PETER (V.O.): Has the battery gone dead?
At Peter's third attempt, we hear strong engine cranking sounds.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's an electric problem. The battery may be weak.
EXT. CAR-BATTERY STORE - LATER
Peter sees a new battery is being installed in his 30X. When he turns the ignition key, the coupe starts instantly.
PETER (V.O.): Good, the problem is resolved.
EXT. OPEN-AIR CAR PARK - LATER
Turning the ignition key, Peter hears no sound.
PETER (V.O.): It has just got a new battery!
Peter tries again. The coupe starts instantly.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's hard to find the problem when the problem has gone away.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.): Before the pandemic, my Mercedes Benz had the same starting "problem". Even the authorized dealer couldn't identify it.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The repair consultant even advised me not to waste money to identify a non-problem.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since the pandemic, I couldn't maintain my monthly travelling hobby.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Staying in Hong Kong, I'd start a car at least once in a fortnight. And then, the starting problem went away by itself.
RETURN TO PRESENT
As Peter turns the ignition key, his 30X starts instantly.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No problem at all.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe the key is for me and my cars to get together regularly.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me drive my S13 back to my urban home this evening then.
Peter washes his cars. Later, when Peter parks his 30X closer to the SMART, the cars kiss at their bumpers.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope it wasn't a violent one, although they haven't got together for a while...
Act 3
EXT. ROADS: 20:15
With its headlamps popped up, Peter is driving his red S13.
PETER (V.O.): When my cars and I get together, a cherished moment happens.
Cruising at the fast lane.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): With cherished moments, l I feel more alive.
Peter cuts to the slow lane and then pulls into a petrol station.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me refuel it to the full.
Car park entrance. Peter is following a green New Beetle.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, my wife is ahead. Another cherished moment.
