Updated: Dec 17, 2023

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDIO - 09:45

  4. Having screen time, PETER sees an image of a woman sitting naked on a roof.

  5. PETER(V.O.): Why did she do that?

  6. Recalling.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Not long ago, I saw the image of a man sitting naked in the street. He had a mental problem.

  8. Reading.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's a performance art by an artist...

  10. Reading.

  11. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Her primary means of expression is her body...

  12. Thinking.

  13. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): What makes a performance an art? An act by an artist?

  14. Act 2

  15. EXT. GOLDEN BEACH - 13:00

  16. Rough waters. Peter is wearing a deep blue wet suit with vibrant patterns.

  17. PETER (V.O.): I've decided that from Dec onwards, I'll wear wet suit...

  18. Then, Peter blows air via a valve to inflate a cyber-green buoy to reach desired firmness.

  19. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'll tow it while swimming.

  20. Peter checks that attachment strap and secures the buoy to his waist.

  21. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The external colour of my body isn't colourful.

  22. Peter walks into the water.

  23. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I want to increase my visibility in the water, seeking attention, just in case.

  24. Swimming against the waves.

  25. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Sitting and swimming have common elements. They're body positions. Both require muscle engagement and balance.

  26. Swimming.

  27. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Am I now expressing myself via my body, similar to the artist sitting on a roof?

  28. Pausing.

  29. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): As swimming is a more physically demanding activity than sitting, would it be a better art performance?

  30. Thinking.

  31. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): She's naked, I'm not.

  32. Pausing.

  33. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Is being naked in context the sufficient condition for artistic quality?

  34. Swimming.

  35. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's said that the distinction between an artist from an ordinary person lies in the intention, context and creative process behind the act.

  36. Pausing.

  37. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): If the act is meant to convey a message, provoke thought or explore a specific theme, it's an art.

  38. Swimming.

  39. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): So if my swimming message is that life is a journey, one should enjoy its twists and turns, have I become an artist?

  40. Pausing.

  41. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Is it a matter of individual interpretation or community recognition?

  42. EXT. CAR PARK - 14:30

  43. Inside his signal-red coupe, Peter researches with his smartphone.

  44. PETER (V.O.): Wow, using menstrual blood as a medium to paint is a step further than representation...

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Does the recognition by the art world trumps all? Any social or cultural biases?

  47. Thinking.

  48. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Am I just too closed-minded in making artistic judgment?

  49. Reflecting.

  50. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Or, if I've the artist's mindset, would whatever I create become art?

  51. Act 3

  52. INT. STUDIO - CONTINUOUS

  53. On Peter's smartphone screen, we see a cartoon-realistic AI drawing entitled "Colours Within".

  54. PETER (V.O): I use original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works to express myself, explore ideas and challenge norms.

  55. Pausing.

  56. PETER (V.O.): As author of my works, I've a genuine desire to communicate and connect with others, uplifting myself at the same time.

  57. Pausing.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The act of creation itself is meaningful and fulfilling to me. I prefer living in colour, whether my works are artistic or I'm an artist or not.

  59. FADE OUT

  60. THE END
