FADE IN
Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 11:30
Sitting up in bed, PETER is having screen time.
PETER (V.O.): There's a Quora request, asking me: How much of your self-perception is built from the culture you live in?
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Nearly entirely - my thoughts, beliefs, motivations and emotions, apart from my imagination.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Only my limitless imagination can break through what I've been conditioned.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And many of what is now proved were once only imagined.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me preview my coming attractions today.
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Peter takes a look of his WIFE who is still sleeping.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's still on leave today.
FLASHBACK
INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT (Yesterday)
Soup and two dishes of food are put on the table.
WIFE: The salt fish and tofu soup is my new attempt. I bought the salt fish head in Sheung Wan.
Peter tastes the soup.
PETER: Very nice!
WIFE: I bought the two dishes of food in Yaumati - the store that was featured in a TV program recently.
PETER: Oh yes! I like the chef who is passionate about his cooking.
Peter tastes the dishes.
PETER (Cont'd): Very delicious!
WIFE: Just HK$45 for two choices.
WIFE (Cont'd): But the apostille service provided by the High Court isn't transaction- based.
PETER: It's still a cheaper way to have our elder daughter's academic documents legalized and verified.
WIFE: I'm so glad that I've made the most of my leave today.
PETER: That means you're free tomorrow. Shall we go to see a movie?
WIFE: Are there good movies to see?
Surfing the web immediately, Peter compares the movie titles.
PETER: I think the Japanese film "Drive My Car" is worth watching. It's 2 hrs 59 mins.
WIFE: So long?
PETER: I'm curious how captivating the plot can be.
Peter does further research.
PETER(Cont'd): Film reviews are very good... oh, it has won the Best Screenplay in the Cannes Film Festival 2021.
INT. SITTING ROOM - LATER
Having selected two seats on screen, Peter's wife makes a call, but it looks the response isn't positive.
WIFE: The restaurant that we meant to go after watching the film wouldn't accept further reservations. We could try its walk-in option.
PETER (Cont'd): Let us try our luck then.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We don't know what the future holds.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even if the future isn't as good as we'd like it to be, there's a future beyond that, right?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As to the past, if I could go back in time, I'd like to fix a few things.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But nothing better would come from dragging the past with me.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Getting out of bed, Peter's wife leaves the room.
PETER (V.O.): Is she asking the maid to prepare her brunch and my lunch?
Then, we hear Roman Tam's songs as Peter's wife returns with a designer Bluetooth speaker in hand.
WIFE: This is another thing I bought at K11 yesterday. Nice, right?
PETER: Definitely!
As Peter's wife goes to the bathroom, we hear the song "Under the Lion Rock".
