The sun streams through the window. Smartphone in hand, PETER taps his YouTube channel.
PETER (V.O): Let me mine my MV "Very Good Wishes". I'll use it to reciprocate New Year Greetings.
Having copied the link, Peter taps WhatsApp and sees a string of unread chats.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): While they sent the 2025 New Year Greetings after midnight, I was still creating, pondering how I could improve my daily screenplay.
Peter attaches the link in his responses to New Year Greetings. Having got a few thumbs-up remarks later, Peter taps the link.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Before I picked up private practice, I was in the creative mood. I dreamt of the melody and filled the lyrics,, some of which were inspired by my doctor.
We follow Peter to watch the MV - scenic visual, peaceful audio and homemade quality.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The message in my song is raw and real. I really mean what I sing.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): And I want to showcase creativity ie If I can do it, so can you!

MONTAGE OF PETER'S ACTIVITIES ON NEW YEAR'S DAY 2025
A. Tung Wah Hospital, 12:30. Peter is encourging ALFRED who is bedridden.
B. Sun Yat Sen Public Swimming Pool, 14:00. Peter is swimming leisurely.
C. Study, 16:00. Peter maintains his Duolingo streaks in seven languages.
D. Riverside Park. 18:00. Peter and his WIFE walk KAJI, the family pet.
E. Living room. 19:00. While his wife is cooking in the kitchen, Peter plays jazz piano.

INT. DINING ROOM - 19:30
Finishing dinner, Peter grabs his smartphone and sees an unread chat.
PETER (V.O): It's from Malcolm, my former HKU law lecturer and longtime friend.
Peter taps to read the chat: Here is the copyright question for the new year...We see Peter's expression shifting from casual delight to one of thoughtful concern.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's a serious question.
MONTAGE
A. Lecture room,1982. MALCOLM (29) teaches Property Law. The attentive Peter (28) jots notes.
B.Legislative Council, 1997. Peter (43), on behalf of Govt. explains the Copyright Bill.
C. Chambers, 2002. Peter's WIFE serves as Malcolm's pupil.
D. Hospital ward, 2015. Malcolm and Peter bid their final farewell to Malcolm's WIFE.

PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Done...I think my docudrama today should have a copyright slant.
INT. LIVING ROOM - 21:30
Having got an AI drawing from AnimeXL, Peter sees an incoming chat from Malcolm and reads it.
PETER (V.O): Having disposed of the liability issue, Malcolm wants to know how will the damages be calculated?
Peter types his opinion on screen.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): During my creative process, it'd be ideal if I'm free from distractions.

PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): What resonates with me will become the theme of my docudrama.

PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I wouldn't overthink but would keep on writing.

PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I want to immerse myself fully in the story - it's about myself.

PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): But multitasking impacts adversely on my creative flow.
Seeing a follow-up question from Malcolm, Peter replies right away.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The literal quality of my stuff would suffer as I rush to complete multiple tasks.
Peter looks away from the WhatsApp app.

INT. STUDY -21:45
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled: "Creativity and Copyright...." to a draft in his laptop.
PETER (V.O): Anyone can express their creativity, inspiring others to do the same.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): In navigating complex subject matters like copyright, knowledge and experience count.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My relationship with Malcolm illustrates the value of friendship, where friends can rely on each other for support anytime of the year.
