  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDY - 10:00

  4. Listening to music, PETER is typing on his smart phone.

  5. PETER (V.O.): Yesterday night, I thought of responding to this email, requesting just a Yes/No answer.

  6. Typing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): On second thoughts, I left it until this morning so that I'd have more time to examine the matter.

  8. Inserting a link.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I need to alert others with evidence that this isn't a straight forward matter.

  10. Editing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hate crisis management and want to pre-empt it.

  12. Peter sends this response.

  13. Act 2

  14. EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 12:30

  15. Sunny. Peter is driving a silver coupe.

  16. PETER (V.O.): I've been busy with my voluntary work. I haven't returned to my NT home for a fortnight.

  17. Peter sees the "Gold Coast" exit sign.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why don't I go swimming in the sea? It shouldn't be very cold.

  19. Peter takes the exit.

  20. EXT. GOLD COAST BEACH - LATER

  21. Few BEACHGOERS. A WOMAN is sunbathing. Two KIDs and their MOM are buiding castles in the sand.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me be the only swimmer.

  23. Peter enters the water.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's cold. But I've swum in colder water before.

  25. Peter begins to swim.

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, it's so refreshing!

  27. Recalling.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For the past fortnight, I swam in heated swimming pools whenever I could.

  29. Pausing.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I swam indoor last night. I didn't plan to swim in the sea hours later.

  31. Swimming.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For fear of hypothermia, I'd only stay in the cold water for a short while.

  33. Swimming.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The water is clear, and I'm the only one swimming in the big beach!

  35. INT. LAKESIDE RESTAURANT - 15:00

  36. Peter is having a tea set in a quiet corner.

  37. PETER (V.O.): I didn't go to the one that I used to go, as it's crowded.

  38. Eating and drinking.

  39. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although Hong Kong is mask-free now, Covid is still in the air.

  40. EXT/INT. PETER'S NT HOME - LATER

  41. Driveway. Peter can't start his red coupe.

  42. PETER (V.O.): Fair enough. It has been idling here for over a fortnight.

  45. Sitting room, G/F. Peter opens a large garbage bag.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been decluttering since 2014...

  47. We see messy rooms and corridors on the 1/F and 2/F as well.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Decluttering is harder now as the remaining stuff are like my love.

  49. Later, we see Peter dumping a largely empty garbage bag.

  55. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Life is a matter of choices. And every choice I make makes me. I'm a nostalgic person.

  56. Pausing.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The quality of my life depends on the quality of my thoughts and feelings.

  58. From the radio, we're listening to Jo Stafford's 1950 song: No Other Love.
