Cosy. Filled with travel souvenirs. PETER is sharing bread with KAJI, the family pet.
PETER (V.O): We haven't had breakfast together for over 10 days.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The last trip was an unplanned one as my wife and I couldn't resist ANA's bargain offer.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Apart from Hong Kong to Tokyo and return, we could also take a domestic flight to and from Tottori.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Years ago, we drove to Tottori from Tokyo, but didn't even see Tottori's sand dunes.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): This time, our trip to Tottori was most eventful.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. DORMY INN PREMIUM, TOKYO - 11:00 (Oct 2, 2024)
Reception. Peter's WIFE is checking out, while Peter has his eyes on his mobile.
PETER (V.O): Seizing the current opportunity, I've sold some stocks with nominal gains.
As his wife has inserted two keys into a machine, we see on screen: Check out completed.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I bought them in fall 2022. Their market prices have been falling until recently.
WIFE: Let's take the train to Haneda Airport...we'd be arriving around noon.
PETER: There're lots of shops and restaurants there...
INT. HENEDA AIRPORT - 12:00
Peter and his wife see ANA's self-service bag drop section.
PETER: We've have already checked in...But I've never checked in bags in Japan by myself...
WIFE: Now is the time to learn how to do that!
Checking the instructions and following the steps, they drop their bags.
PETER: Great. We've learned something new.
WIFE: Without our bags, we can walk around leisurely.
Peter continues to check his investment portfolio on mobile.
PETER: Darling, I'm so happy that I've lost less money...What an unforgettable day.
WIFE: Perhaps, we should have something light before passing through the security...
Later, having had sushi in an elegant restaurant, they go and check the bulletin board.
PETER: I can't find any flight departing for Ottori at 14:45. What's our flight no.?
WIFE: NH295...
PETER: But I still can't find the scheduled flight...
WIFE: ...It must have flown!
PETER: Gone?
WIFE: We've been distracted by our arrival time in Ottori! Our flight departed at 13:25!
Checking the time, they see 13:45.
PETER: We need to seek help from ANA staff...
MONTAGE OF WHAT HAPPENS NEXT AT ANA COUNTER
A. Peter and his wife speak to STAFF#1 who directs them to speak to STAFF#2.
B. Having checked something, Staff#2 responds to them. Peter and his wife begin to look relieved.
C. Having sought the endorsement of STAFF#3, staff#2 presents to Peter and his wife with two air tickets.
D. Peter and his wife go to another counter to reclaim their checked-in bags.
E. Having re-checked-in their bags by themselves, Peter and his wife pass through the security and go to a gate, waiting.
END MONTAGE
WIFE: I was surprised that we're issued new tickets for the next flight with no question asked.
PETER: I felt bad that we had caused lots of inconvenience to others...
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - 20:30
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Flight of Fancy ..." to a draft in his Surface.
PETER (V.O): For the first time, we missed our flight and had an unprecedented experience.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Without the support ANA, our own resilience can't make us resourceful. It's for sure that we'll be loyal customers of ANA.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Even when a plan goes awry, there can still be discovery in our journey.
