INT. BEDROOM - 07:45
Waking up, PETER checks the time.
PETER (V.O.): Good that I can wake up relatively early.
Peter takes a look of KAJI, the family pet, in bed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Like my wife, she's still fast asleep.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If our pet wakes up before me, I'd hear her whining. She doesn't like me delaying her breakfast.
Peter gets out of bed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to wake up even earlier for the next couple of days. I hope my English time is behind me now.
Act 2
MONTAGE OF PETER'S ACTIVITIES TODAY
A. Chambers. Peter is studying a thick file.
B. Common area. Peter is making calls.
C. High Court library. Peter is reading a thick book.
D. Car. Peter is discussing with two MEN inside.
E. High Court library, Peter resumes reading thick books.
F. Study. Peter is participating in a Zoom conference.
END MONTAGE
INT. STUDIO - 18:30
Blue-tooth speakers are on. A tired Peter is listening to songs. We hear:...I saw a light shine from a window, as I looked again, your face came into sight...
PETER (V.O.): It's just like what I saw when my family arrived at our friend's house at Welford-on-avon.
FLASHBACK
EXT. ROADS TO WELFORD-ON-AVON DAY (Nov 9, 2022)
16:30. The sun is setting. Peter is driving a black VW Tiguan. His WIFE is navigating.
PETER: It's so quiet here.
WIFE: We'll only arrive at our friend's home in 15 minutes.
PETER (V.O.): I just hope that we'd arrive before the night falls. We began our journey at 13:00 from Locks Heath.
WIFE: We're arriving in 5 minutes.
PETER: The scenes are more or less the same.
EXT/INT. PETER'S FAMILY FRIEND'S HOUSE - 16:45
Arriving at a red-brick house with a white VW Tiguan parked outside, Peter sees a light shine from a window on the G/F.
PETER (V.O.): I can see our friend's wife waiting for our arrival earnestly.
As Peter's FRIEND and his WIFE came out of the house, they embrace their guests. After taking a few snapshots, Peter follows the party into the house.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to do justice to their house. Our friend and his wife showed the images of it to us before buying it.
Soon, Peter's family is led to check the house design and facilities.
PETER: They correspond to samples. Very nice!
FRIEND'S WIFE: Very quiet though.
PETER (V.O.): Our friend is a thinker, not quite a talker. I'm glad that I bought them a pair of blue-tooth speakers.
Nodding, they go up to the 1/F.
FRIEND'S WIFE: We've trained our two dogs not to go upstairs.
Peter and his wife nod.
FRIEND'S WIFE (Cont'd): Apart from the master bedroom, we've our own quiet rooms...
PETER (V.O.): Quiet ones are observant people.
PETER: And even private toilets!
Their friend and his wife smile.
PETER (V.O.): When one feels very quiet, one may know that there's something lacking in one's life.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 21:30
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I won't assume not quiet is good and quiet is bad.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm also at a point in life where I want to be very quiet too.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, our friend and his wife will revisit Hong Kong in Spring 2023 and we'll gather together again.
Peter's wife appears.
WIFE: Our elder daughter has already rented a high-street premises in Seoul!
Peter claps his hands.
