FADE IN
Act 1
Having practised via the Duolingo App, PETER grins excitedly.
PETER (V.O): I'm now ranked no.1 in its Ruby league!
Peter leans back in the sofa, content.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I've really outdone myself this time.
As he turns to his emails, Peter's expression shifts.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Oh, I don't know an email I've been expecting has actually arrived two days ago.
Peter opens and reads.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Oh, Q would like to interview me today! But I meant to declutter my guest apartment for my son-in-law-to-be from Seoul.
Peter types his reply, attaching a video clip.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): We can do a video call today, and the theme of my MV has summarized what I want to say.
Act 2
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
Soon, Peter reads a reply with two links.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Oh, Q reciprocates with her song and poems. And she's more keen to interview me in person.
Peter watches a MV and reads the poems.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The matter is a HKUST business. Let's meet at its Business School in Central next week then.
Peter sends his email and reads a prompt reply.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Done! Let me do what I want to do now...
Ringtones. Seeing the caller is "Emily" on screen, Peter picks up the call.
EMILY (from mobile): Hi Peter, I've just sent you the draft brochure. I want your endorsement before issuing it to the public.
PETER (to mobile): Okay, I'll come back to you shortly.
Having found the brochure attached to a WhatsApp message, Peter sees images of him and others.
PETER (V.O): Wow, Emily has mined my image somewhere without bothering me to send her one.
Having responded, Peter sees a prompt remark: Very much looking forward to watching your performance.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Emily anticipates that I'd write and perform a song at her Institute's function.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I don't know if I can come up with a song good for the occasion at all. It's about legal translation...serious stuff.
Peter feels for his stomach and then checks the time.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's time for a delayed lunch.
EXT. RESTAURANT - 15:15
Having prawn noodles in soup, Peter checks Yahoo!Finance.
PETER (V.O): The Hang Seng Index has fallen again. A way to balance my emotion is to buy low.

INT. APARTMENT - 16:00
While tidying a few things, Peter gets a call.
PETER (V.O): It's from an instructing solicitor. I asked him to facilitate something days ago.
Peter then engages in a lengthy conversation. When that's done, Peter resumes his work.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I want to make the guest apartment more cosy...
Then doorbell ringing. Peter opens the door and sees his WIFE.
WIFE: Time to take our pet to her hairdresser...
EXT. ROADSIDE - 17:45
.
Waiting inside a car, Peter checks his mails.
PETER (V.O): Oh, something has cropped up and the secretariat is seeking my steer.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Good governance and transparency are key to successful outcomes.
Peter types his reply right away.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Our son-in-law-to-be would have to put up with the apartment as it is.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 22:30
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Genality and Governance ..." to a draft.
PETER (V.O): While geniality and governance are contrasting concepts, the alliteration of the terms' "g" sounds creates a smooth, rhythmic quality.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Genality is warm, and interpersonal, while governance is formal and business-oriented.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Between personal qualities and professional responsibilities, I believe I can still strike a fair balance.
