FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - 09:00
Smartphone in hand, PETER is busy in typing answers in Quora.
PETER (V.O.): I need to catch up. For the past week, I've only answered questions posted by my loyal fans.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even so, other Quorans continue to pose questions to me. While I haven't agreed to answer them, I believe they expect to hear from me.
Typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And there're other intermediaries who keep on sharing my answers in their individual Spaces, cascading my messages to those loyal to them.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'd re-read those shared answers to understand why they're worth quoting.
Typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As I've entertained some now, I might as well entertain more.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - 13:00
Reading his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.): A fan is asking me what's the difference between commitment and dedication.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Their result is the same: the feeling of strong support for or loyalty to someone or something. But there's a difference between them.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Commitment is obligated via an agreement or a pledge.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For example, I've agreed to prosecute on Monday and pledged to myself to send a draft submission for comment tomorrow.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've also agreed to issue a domain name decision in about 10 days; and I've pledged to myself to circulate a draft to my co-panelists for comments within days.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Dedication seems more personal and action-oriented.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I write and publish a short screenplay daily; and I try to swim as regularly as I can.
Typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although I haven't pledged to my Quora fans, I'm dedicated to satisfy them.
Counting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I've already answered over 40 questions. Am I dedicated?
Checking time.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I must return to my professional work to honour my obligations.
INT. STUDY - 14:00
Peter works behind his computer.
PETER (V.O.): Let me do a rough draft on the domain name dispute first
Glued to the screen, Peter reads, types and edits a draft. Later, his smartphone rings.
PETER (To phone): Yes, Darling?
DARLING (From phone): I'm going to walk our pet.
PETER (To phone): I'm joining.
PETER (V.O.): We haven't pledged our strong support to our pet. Similarly, our pet hasn't pledged her loyalty to us. But we feel we're dedicated to each other.
SEQUENCE OF PETER'S OTHER ACTIVITITES
A. Pet garden. Peter and his WIFE walk and serve their pet.
B. Study. Glued to the computer screen, Peter reads, types and edits a draft.
C. Swimming pool. Peter glides on the water.
RETURN TO PRESENT
EXT. PARK - 20:00
Quiet. A wet-haired Peter is walking past.
PETER (V.O.) : Am I committed or dedicated to adding years to my life?
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 23:00
Peter works on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): When I'm committed to doing something, I act to deliver value, even though I may not in the mood.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I'm dedicated to do something, I also act to deliver value, but I'm self-motivated.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Have I made myself clear regarding the difference between commitment and dedication?
Peter does a screenshot.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, sharing my wisdom/opinion via Quora is my way to give back to the world.
