  8. END MONTAGE

  9. PETER (V.O.): I tried this pair of unused old sandals the other day and found there's nothing wrong with them.

  10. Pausing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wore the sandals today but their outsoles came lose, possibly due to the sand or summer heat.

  12. Checking the sandals.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They can't fix themselves.

  14. Act 2

  15. FLASHBACK

  16. EXT. REPULSE BAY - 11:00 (Today)

  17. Grabbing a floating platform's ladder, Peter climbs up.

  18. PETER: Ooops!

  19. On the floating platform, Peter checks his left foot.

  20. PETER (V.O.): My big toe has rubbed a sharp surface of a submerged rung.

  21. Pausing.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel the pain. I hope the skin hasn't torn.

  23. Soon, Peter sees a scrape breeding.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope the scrape isn't deep and the breeding will soon stop.

  25. Peter takes a look of other floating platforms.

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My practice has been to visit all of them before swimming back to the beach.

  27. Peter's open scrape is still breeding.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I think I've to abort my plan this time.

  29. Thinking.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'd wait here until the breeding stops.

  31. Thinking.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But when I introduce the open scrape to the seawater later, will it breed again?

  33. Peter checks his scrape.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, let my body take the time to heal.

  35. Lying flat, Peter puts his hands to cover his face from the bright sunshine.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The body's natural physiological processes and self-healing mechanisms are wonderful.

  37. Pausing.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Sunshine may have a drying effect on the blood clot.

  39. Later, we see Peter leaving the floating platform and swimming back to the beach.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm swimming gently. I try not to disturb the scrape.

  41. Swimming.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Fortunately, the water is clear and clean.

  43. Reaching the beach, Peter checks his big toe scrape which is half hidden in the sand.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I take it that it hasn't bred again.

  45. When Peter puts on his sandals, he can't walk properly.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What's wrong?

  47. Seeing the outsoles of his sandals have come loose, Peter drags himself towards a convenience store and comes out later with a new pair of sandals.

  48. RETURN TO PRESENT

  49. Having sterilized a towel, Peter sweeps the sand on the floor with it barefooted.

  50. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Ooops! I feel pain in my scrape again!

  51. Act 3

  52. INT. STUDY - 20:00

  53. Tapping an AI drawing App in his smartphone, Peter inputs the prompt: A man staring at his big toe with a breeding scrape.

  54. PETER (V.O.): At first glance, things appear messy and unconnected.

  55. As a cubist image appears on screen, Peter looks pleased with the representation.

  56. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Humans have the inherent ability to find the hidden order in chaos.

  57. Checking the cubist image again.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The concept of order can be explored from multiple view points.
