INT. BEDROOM - 8:30
Finishing his morning routines, PETER checks his emails.
PETER (V.O.): Sony has confirmed the warranty registrations of my new speakers under a different account but with my identical name.
INT. STUDIO - 10:30
Staring at his six speakers bearing the Sony word mark, Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O): "Sony" is a combination the Latin word "sonus" (sounds and sonic) and the word "sonny" (little son).
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As a consumer, Sony suggests "Song" to me.
As Peter connects his smart phones with the speakers, we hear songs.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been buying Sony products since the mid-1970s.
Act 2
EXT. PARK/STREET - 14:00
Jogging from a track onto a pavement, Peter is about to arrive at a convenience store.
PETER (V.O.): Wow, there's a queue at the cashier. People can't wait to activate their consumption vouchers.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm joining them, getting some dividends from my tax liability.
Queuing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Buying half a dozen of Sony speakers in advance, I help boost Hong Kong's economy proactively.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As my paired speakers has the same colour, they look like twins. I distinguish them by leaving the strap of one untied.
Peter taps his Octopus card against a reader.
INT. SITTING ROOM - 14:30
The TV is on. We hear: ...the Japanese cartoonist Fujiko Fujio A died today at the age of 88...
PETER: Hasn't he died already?
Wondering.
WIFE: "Fujiko Fujio" is a joint pseudonym. Fujiko F Fujio was responsible for the cartoon character Doraemon; Fujiko Fujio A has his own creations.
PETER: We've lots of Doraemon stuff.
WIFE: The robot cat is iconic, similar to Mickey Mouse.
PETER: I don't think we've any Fujiko Fujio A's stuff.
WIFE: No. He lived long though. Fujiko F Fujio died in 1996 at the age of 62.
PETER::Well, I'm 67 going on 68!
INT. STUDIO - 15:45
Peter is staring at the Doraemon clock at a corner.
PETER (V.O.): My wife and children were fans of Doraemon.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When Doraemon was created in the late 1970s, I was too old for it.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As my young family liked it, I joined my family.
Peter places a pair of lemon-yellow speakers against the clock.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife loves the lemon-yellow colour, I join her too.
Peter captures a photo of his installation.
INT. STUDY - 15:50
Smartphone in hand, Peter is checking the prices of stocks.
PETER (V.O.): The price of a stock that I've invested more days ago hits another lowest point now.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me average down again. The price may go up tomorrow.
Watching TV financial news, Peter looks shocked.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, a financial commentor opines that the stock's price will continue to slip.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 23:00
Peter is thinking in bed.
PETER (V.O.): A long time ago I thought about using a pseudonym in writing and publishing, but I had nothing to hide.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Those who gave me life gave me my name as well. I shouldn't fake it even if a pseudonym might enhance the chance of success.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My name is very common. It reflects my background.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I want do distinguish mine from others, I just add the suffix "SBS".
Peter sleeps.
