Listening to stereo oldies, PETER is having screen time.
PETER (V.O.): "What's Kairos' time?" That's an answer request from a Quoran.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's only now that I've heard about it.
Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):Kairos was the ancient Greek god of opportunity.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Kairos' time is the qualitative time of life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The concept is to find the best situation to act timely.
Act 2
INT. KITCHEN - 10:15
Appearing, Peter turns on a Bluetooth speaker and then taps his smartphone screen. We hear oldies.
PETER (V.O.): I've music in every cosy corner.
Having cut a few slices of ginger and lemon, Peter gets some dates and wolfberries.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Ginger and lemon have immunity boosting properties. Dates are good for the blood and wolfberries for the eyes.
Peter puts the ingredients and water into an electric kettle. Then he presses the On button.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm making my healthy drink.
Sitting in a chair, Peter types on his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Everyday, I get over a dozen answer requests from Quorans. I endeavour to respond to the good ones timely.
Typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): So far, I've entertained thousands. It's my way to leave an intellectual legacy to the world.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here's another good answer request: The world is your oyster, so what's next?
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Back to the cosmos, naturally. We're made of stardust.
Having typed his reply, Peter pours his drink into a cup and mixes it with honey.
PETER (V.O.): I love honey. It never goes bad even after thousands of years.
Peter consumes his drink with satisfaction.
INT. PARK - 14:00
Wearing a facemask, Peter is jogging along a track.
PETER (V.O.): To get fit, I've to keep my body moving.
INT. STUDY - 15:30
Peter is reading a book on Ethics.
PETER (V.O.): Socrates was executed at age 71. Plato died in his sleep at age 80.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, Aristotle was poisoned to death at age 62. Machiavelli died at age 58.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Hobbes aged 91, Rousseau aged 66, Hume aged 65, Kant aged 79, Bentham aged 84...
Remembering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was studying at University College, London, I saw Bentham's publicly-displayed skeleton padded with straw and topped with a wax head.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Mill aged 66, Marx aged 64 and Sartre aged 74.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Some centenarians in Hong Kong, China, could have lived even longer but for COVID-19.
Sighing.
Act 3
INT. DINING ROOM - 20:15
Peter and his WIFE are chatting over dinner.
PETER (V.O.): This is the qualitative time of life.
INT. STUDY - 22:00
Peter is working on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): I'm 67. I make my wellness a priority, as I still can.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Improving the quality of my life, I've to improve the quality of my thoughts.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O)(Cont'd): Yes, I'll have more Kairos' time.
