INT. HOME - DAY
Sun's ray is piercing through the window. Kaji is lying in a chair, gazing at the door.
MONTAGE
A. Early morning. A gang MEMBER leaves home. Kaji's eyes show understanding.
B. Morning. After feeding Kaji, the PACK LEADER leaves home. Kaji's eyes show loyalty.
C. Later, PETER appears. After sharing with Kaji a banana, Peter disappears. Kaji eyes reflect a sense of loss.
END MONTAGE
KAJI (V.O.): Now, there's only silence.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When will Peter, the Pack Leader and the Gang Member return?
Act 2
MONTAGE OF KAJI'S GOOD MOMENTS
A. Kaji and the Gang member settle on a sofa, resting together.
B. Kaji goes to the Pack Leader, sharing a large chair together.
C. Lying beside Peter, Kaji rests her head on his lap as Peter caresses her fur.
D. Kaji engages in a game of fetch with Peter.
END MONTAGE
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, let me play with my toys.
Kaji goes to her toy box and sniffs her toys.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Each toy carries its own unique scent, reminding me of the previous play sessions.
Grabbing a stuff animal with her teeth, Kaji wrestles with it.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When it makes a squeaky sound, my heart would pound with excitement as I've conquered my prey.
Wrestling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe it reduces my stress too.
Soon, Kaji stops playing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Playing alone is actually no fun.
Hiding inside her indoor kennel now, Kaji rests her head on her paws.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe they'll be back.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can persevere by cherishing the moments we spent together.
Perking up her ears.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is someone coming home?
Kaji rushes to the front door.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Who is it?
Kaji hears door bell ringing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When the maid was here, she'd open the door...
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): And she'd get parcels from someone outside.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): In any event, I don't know how to open the door.
As the door bell rings again, Kaji barks loudly.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm actually not a barking dog.
Barking continuously.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But now, I've got to guard our home. I need to frighten the stranger away.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): No matter how long it takes, I'll keep on waiting for the return of my loved ones.
Soon, we see Kaji dozing off in a corner.
Act 3
INT. HOME - LATER
KAJI (V.O.): Home alone, I've my moment of loneliness.
Kaji stays guarding.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I comfort myself by finding familiar scents that are still lingering in the house.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): With a waiting heart, I value my loved ones. I trust them and won't lose hope.
DAYDREAMING
Roads to Riverside Park - Night. Leading the Pack Leader and Peter, Kaji can't wait to take them to the Park.
