Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Coming in from the sitting room, KAJI jumps up onto the bed.
KAJI (V.O.): It's late at night.
Kaji sees PETER sitting by the bed.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He's not sleeping yet, like the Pack Leader in the sitting room.
Kaji checks the two bed quilts.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're placed all over the bed.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our maid hasn't made the bed.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It has been a long day. I want to sleep now.
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Kaji inspects the bed again.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me do my bedtime rituals.
Kaji turns in circles a few times.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Which quilt should I choose? They both look fine.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me take both then.
Kaji then scratches both quilts.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't know why I love doing that now.
Kaji digs the quilts.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Was today too boring and I need a new game?
Kaji repeats a few times.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Or my natural instinct has suddenly risen like a flame?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyway, I just want a comfortable bed spot.
Kaji continues scratching and digging the quilts.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I want to create a shallow hole.
Kaji doesn't see any hole in the quilts.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why can't I make a hole?
FLASHBACK
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY (EARLIER)
Kaji is scratching one ear with a hind leg.
KAJI (V.O.): I feel itchy in one ear.
Repeating.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The itch hasn't gone. Why?
Kaji checks her nails.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, they aren't sharp enough.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): They've been trimmed by those working in the torture chambers.
Coming to Kaji's rescue, Peter scratches Kaji's itchy ear with his finger nails.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, he gets my cue.
As Peter is serving her, Kaji stays put.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): it's so comfortable.
END FLASHBACK
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): As the present spot looks reasonably snuggly, I'd better stop.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Kaji lies down on her bed spot.
KAJI (V.O.): Good treats, meals, and bedtime make my blessings each day.
Kaji feels that Peter is watching her with a device.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're also the best cure in anything.
Kaji closes her eyes.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): A tired mind doesn't plan well, I sleep first and plan later.
Peter switches off the light.
