INT. LIVING ROOM - THE NIGHT BEFORE
Cosy, with a sofa, a massage chair, a dog sofa and KAJI curling up in her dog bed.
KAJI (V.O.): I sense something...
As the sound of the front door opening fills the air, Kaji's ears perk up.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Who's returning?
Sniffing the air, Kaji jumps up to her feet as a Gang MEMBER appears with a baggage.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh she's back!
Kaji bounds towards the Gang member enthusiastically.
MEMBER: My sweet girl! I've missed you so much.
The Gang member kneels down to Kaji's level and cradles her in her arms.
MEMBER (Cont'd): Look, I've something to show you.
Act 2
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Directing Kaji's attention, the Gang Members points to a mini device at the windowsill.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): This is a camera. We can watch you while we aren't home.
Kaji looks up at the Gang Member.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't get it.
MEMBER: I talk to you via the camera every day when I'm away from home.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that this little thing has some connections between her and me.
MONTAGE OF KAJI'S MEMORIES
A. Eating on the sofa, Kaji hears voices coming from that device.
B. Relaxing in the massage chair, Kaji hears voices coming from that device again.
RETURN TO PRESENT
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Hiding or squeezing inside this device must be like being tortured...
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Has she just escaped from that mini chambers?
Looking perplexed, Kaji observes the Gang Member.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): As I see love and affection in her eyes, that little thing can't be bad to me.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But it isn't edible.
MEMBER: I've got something special for you.
The Gang Member reaches out of her baggage and pulls out a bag of dog treats.
MEMBER (Cont'd): My little princess, you deserve all the treats in the world!
PACK LEADER: No, she's fat!
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh dear...
INT. DINING ROOM - LATER
A FAMILY hotpot dinner. Kaji sits beside the returning Gang Member at the dining table. She pets Kaji's fur gently as she eats.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The hot stuff isn't for me.
Kaji's eyes fix on Peter who sits near her.
KAJI (V.O.): He's the Gang Member who is most enthusiastic in passing me food in any circumstances.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): And he'd ignore the Pack Leader's prohibition.
We see Peter breaking some cooled meat into small slices and passes some to Kaji.
PACK LEADER: That's enough...
As Peter continues to pass meat slices to her, Kaji accepts swiftly.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's me. I don't know if I'd get my next meal.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to live before I can love.
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Sitting in a massage chair, Kaji stares at the Pack Leader and the Gang.
KAJI (V.O.): The bond between them and me is incredibly strong and filled with love.
Then, Kaji hears a voice from the mini device and sees the Pack Leader and the Gang responding to the voice lovingly.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe that little thing that captures lots of people is a camera of love.
Listening to the joyful exchanges, Kaji looks relaxed.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I cherish the connection and affection that contribute greatly to our well-being and happiness.
