Act 1
INT. LIVING ROOM - MORNING
Lying comfortably in her bed, KAJI remembers something.
KAJI (V.O.): Peter returned home yesterday.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't know why he hid himself in a nearby unit for many days.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Somehow, I didn't give him a warm welcome.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But my role is to wake him up to prepare for breakfast. He's an old man.
Kaji goes to the bedroom.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. ROADS - NIGHT (Yesterday)
A traffic light intersection. Hearing Peter's command "Wait!" from behind, Kaji, leading the PACK LEADER, stops and waits at the edge of the road with OTHERS.
KAJI (V.O.): I'm disciplined. I've my perspective.
Kaji sees on-coming vehicles using the roads.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The Pack leader likes to follow me with a leash.
Kaji turns her head.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): As to Peter, he's always behind, but I listen to him actively.
Kaji doesn't check the traffic.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's Peter's role. He deserves my respect.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Respecting him is my expression of love.
As PEDESTRIAN#1 crosses the road while the "red man" is watching, we hear Peter saying "Wait...Wait..."
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Crossing now is wrong...
Waiting.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I hear Peter saying "Go!", I'd lead the Pack Leader and others crossing the road.
As Peter says "Go!", Kaji releases her energy.
While crossing, we hear PEDESTRIAN#2 talking to PEDESTRIAN#3 smilingly.
PEDESTRIAN#2 (to Pedestrian#3): The dog is quite human...
RETURN TO PRESENT
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - AFTERNOON
Kaji is marking her territory and sniffing out the best in the Park.
KAJI (V.O.): The question I get asked the most is: "Are they all yours?"
Seeing a STRANGER approaching, Kaji observes her physical and behavoural cues.
KAJI (V.O.): She's younger than me.
Staring at the stranger.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): How dare you trespassing my territory!
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been raised to show respect.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I like to take age as a defining factor, I demand respect!
Staring at the stranger.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Respect is the foundation of any healthy relationship.
Kaji looks uncompromising.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Don't think that age is just a bark! Despite my cute size, I'm always brave.
As Kaji is about to charge the stranger, the Pack Leader and the stranger's MASTER keep them apart.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): From age to sage, I'm unique!
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - LATER
Kaji settles down in her bed.
KAJI (V.O.): While a fool battles everyone's else's egos, I'm battling my own. Knowing myself is the beginning of all wisdom.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): With age comes a lot of experience and knowledge. I'm shifting from role to soul.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Actually, it isn't the age that makes a sage. It's the introspection that opens the cage.
