FADE IN
Act 1
INT. HOME - DAY (YESTERDAY)
Warm light. KAJI is observing the PACK LEADER.
KAJI (V.O): She grabs my collar and leash.
Kaji takes a look at PETER.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He focuses on me.
Kaji looks excited.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Time to play my usual game before going out.
Kaji hides under a table but peeks out with her bright eyes.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I know the Pack Leader would look for me.
The Pack Leader approaches the table, crouching down to see Kaji.
PACKLEADER: Do you want to walk on the grass or not?
Act 2
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - LATER
Picturesque. From a pet carrier cart, the Pack Leader sets Kaji down on the grass.
KAJI (V.O.): That's how I fly from my cart and land on the ground.
As Kaji steps onto the grass, her paws sink slightly into the ground.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love the touch down as I'm in control of myself again.
Having done her whole-body shake, Kaji begins to sniff the grass and ground.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My friends or foes have been here.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): A while ago, I was chasing one here and suddenly I got great pain in my left leg.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since then, I've gone to my vet's clinic many times and stayed there overnight at times.
Having left her marks, Kaji walks here and there.
PACK LEADER: Let's go to the promenade then.
EXT. WALKWAYS TO THE PROMENADE - LATER
Taking a temporary concrete path, they walk past a construction site.
PETER: Here used to be the pet park that our babe had years of happiness.
PACK LEADER: It's all gone! Our babe can't recognize it anymore.
Suddenly, Peter yells.
PETER: OMG, our babe limps again!
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Walking on rugged concrete, I've got sore muscles in my left leg.
PACK LEADER: I'd better put her back into her carrier cart.
PETER: Yes, let her rest for awhile.
EXT. PROMENADE - LATER
We feel the salty breeze and hear distant laughter.
KAJI (V.O.): It's good to be back. We haven't come here for a long time.
Observing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here, there're lots of people but very few pets.
INT. HOME - AFTERNOON (Today)
Kaji is resting on her sofa when the Pack Leader approaches her.
PACK LEADER: Time for some physiotherapy.
The Pack Leader then begins to stretch Kaji's left leg gently, counting one, two, three...
KAJI (V.O.): But would we go out today?
PACK LEADER: Don't look at me. We aren't going out today. You've to rest.
Later, Kaji jumps up onto a sofa with a mini staircase.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I don't need to use the staircase anymore. I think I've recovered.
Later, Kaji jumps up onto an empty chair.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): What if I fall and hurt my other legs?
Act 3
INT. HOME - NIGHT
Kaji curls up within her soft kennel.
KAJI (V.O): Here's my cocoon of comfort and safety. But I love walking on the green grass.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): When I'm tired, I accept help from the Pack Leader, like retreating in my carrier cart while adventuring outside.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Regular, gentle exercises should support my left leg's recovery. My strength lies not in never falling, but in rising up each time I fall!
