Act 1
EXT. PET GARDEN#1 - DAY
Double-gate entrance, KAJI, the PACK LEADER and PETER enter.
KAJI (V.O.): Good to be back. I'm endowed with the outgoing personality.
Kaji's FRIENDS and their MASTERS swarm them briefly.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me pee and poop first.
Having checked the lawn, Kaji pees and poops at leisure.
PETER: Oh, she doesn't go to her favourite spots.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I just can't wait.
The Pack Leader picks up what Kaji has visibly left behind.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me now mingle with others.
As Kaji strolls along a walk, MASTER#1 extends his arms to her.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. PET GARDEN#2 - DAY (A FORTNIGHT AGO)
Having done her routines, Kaji approaches STRANGERS of different sizes along an arc.
KAJI (V.O.): I'm female. Unlike males, I won't investigate others' back end right away.
Kaji doesn't allow the strangers to sniff her back either.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I don't want to establish that sort of relationship.
Kaji then jumps up onto a bench, sitting between MASTER#2 and #3.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): New faces. But I'm not looking for treats.
Master#2 begins to pet Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Being loved is more important than food.
It's Master#3's turn.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Comparing with humans, I can move on easier and form loving relationships faster.
The Pack Leader and Peter observe Kaji in a distance.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): That doesn't mean that I don't love the Pack Leader and the Gang. I stick to them at home.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Dogs' form of love isn't dissimilar from humans.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even if my present loving relationship is taken away, I can deal with the trauma well.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Almost six years ago, I was with another family.
Both the Pack Leader and Peter walk towards the exit, leaving Kaji behind.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Where are they going?
Kaji looks undisturbed.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I know they'll be back soon.
Soon, the Pack Leader returns to pick up Kaji.
INT. SITTING ROOM - EVENING (YESTERDAY)
Sitting behind a computer screen with the Pack Leader and the GANG, Kaji looks uninterested.
KAJI (V.O.): While I hear familiar sounds, I couldn't recall those no-scent images on screen.
Kaji remains insensitive.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why don't they come home so that we meet face-to-face?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): They've bigger heads than me. Perhaps, I'm not intelligent and can't understand.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I don't mind waiting. I'm quite used to it.
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
INT. PET GARDEN#1 - CONTINUOUS
Pulling back her ears, Kaji lets Master#1 embrace her.
KAJI (V.O.): If he has a tail, he'd wag. We're tame and want to see each other.
Master#1 pets Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm hyper-social. Little things in the past also add up.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's affection, not intelligence, that makes me unique and lovable.
The Pack Leader and Peter observe the incident in a distance.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Affection is the most precious gift I can offer to anyone.
