Act 1
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
Sofa and chairs are fully filled with cushions. KAJI walks unsteadily.
KAJI (V.O.): I can't jump onto them, even if I can.
Peter appears. He embraces Kaj and puts her sitting with him in a chair.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He used to point at it and I'd jump onto it.
PETER: You're still suffering from your leg injury.
Later, Kaji passes to Peter one of her toys.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Throw it high! I love to catch it in the air.
Peter just passes the toy back to her.
PETER: No, you shouldn't jump now, even if you want to.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. RIVIERSIDE PARK - DAY (A fortnight ago)
Terraced design. Kaji bounces from one terrace to another.
KAJI (V.O.): Every day is an adventure. Life's a game!
Kaji sees a young SHIBA INU approaching.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): How dare you intrude on my turf?
Kaji begins to chase the shiba inu, as the PACK LEADER looks on.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oops! That didn't feel right...
Lifting her left leg, Kaji stops.
PACK LEADER: Oh dear! Are you okay?
KAJI (V.O.): Let me shake it off...
Kaji begins to limp.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Maybe it'll feel better soon...
Peter than notices Kaji's limping.
PETER: What's the matter with her?
PACK LEADER: While chasing a shiba inu, she missteps and twists her left leg.
PETER: Oh dear!
They see Kaji struggling to walk properly.
PACK LEADER: No, she doesn't look okay. Let's take her to the vet now.
INT. VET OFFICE - LATER
Sitting on the examination table, Kaji lets the VET examine her left leg.
PACK LEADER: It's okay girl.
Later, the vet checks the X-ray image.
VET: No bone fractures. It looks like a sprain. I'll prescribe some medications. Come back if her condition doesn't improve.
RETURN TO PRESENT
EXT. THE RIVERSIDE PARK - DAY
Lifting her left leg, Kaji runs on the grass, as the Pack Leader and Peter observe her worriedly. Then, they see the shiba inu walking past.
KAJI (V.O.): How embarrassing!
INT. VET'S OFFICE - NIGHT
Kaji waits at the examination table as the Vet talks to the Pack Leader.
VET: It now appears that her sprain is quite serious. I 've to refer the case to a sprain specialist...
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): What does that mean?
PACK LEADER: Don't worry. We're going to make sure you get the best care.
EXT. ROADSIDE - LATER
Returning to a waiting car with Peter at the driver seat, the Pack Leader reports.
PACK LEADER:..She might need a surgical operation...
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Moving within a dog compound, the nervous Kaji stares at the Pack Leader and Peter.
KAJI (V.O.): I hope they understand the struggles and pain I'm going through.
Peter pets Kaji affectionately.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Supporting each other through tough times fosters deeper connections.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, I'm being confined. They can't bear my limping with love.
