INT. BEDROOM - MORNING
The morning light creeps through the curtains onto KAJI.
KAJI (V.O.): I've slept enough.
Perking up her ears, Kaji gets out of bed.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me check if the maid has already prepared breakfast for Peter and me.
INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Kaji sees the MAID putting food on the table.
KAJI (V.O.): Let me alert Peter without delay.
Later, Kaji and an unfocused PETER share breakfast together.
KAJI (V.O.): Here is a place I love to be in every morning, although I've to lure Peter to join me.
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - LATE MORNING
Kaji appears by the bedside.
KAJI (V.O.): Peter has returned to bed... he looks as if he hasn't slept for days.
Kaji checks out the PACK LEADER.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): She sleeps late and wakes up late, as always.
Having jumped onto the bed, Kaji nestles into the space between Peter's legs.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): We get cosy like that.
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - EVENING
Trotting alongside the Pack Leader and Peter, Kaji pauses to sniff the green grass.
KAJI (V.O.): The scent is fresh. I won't get tired of coming here.
Kaji then steps onto the green grass.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, it's still wet from the earlier rain.
FLASHBACK
INT. LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON (Earlier)
Peter joins Kaji on the sofa.
KAJI (V.O.): What a surprise!
Kaji pauses to watch Peter.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He's wearing a hat and is carrying a bag. He usually goes out like that.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Does Peter want to give me company?
Looking out of the window, Kaji senses something.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh no! There's a subtle change in the air.
Sensing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The air's moisture content is increasing...
Kaji exhibits signs of unease.
PETER (To the Pack Leader): Our baby is a wonderful weathergirl. She detects a thunderstorm is coming...
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Peter is always brave even when the end of the world is approaching...
Nervously, Kaji climbs onto Peter's lap.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I need Peter's comfort.
PETER: Okay, girl. I've got you.
Kaji presses herself against Peter. We can hear Kaji's heartbeats.
PETER (Cont'd): Don't worry, girl, I'll protect you.
Peter wraps his arms around Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel a sense of security now.
Then, the Pack Leader comes forward to take a photo of Kaji and Peter.
PETER (to the Pack Leader): You're jealous...
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Appearing, Kaji sees Peter going to bed.
KAJI (V.O.): To have a sense of home, I need safe and supportive spaces.
Kaji goes to lick Peter's face.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me now reciprocate my companionship and a calming influence.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): In my sanctuaries, I can find light in the darkness.
