Act 1
EXT. PARK SIDEWALK - DAY
With the PACK LEADER's assistance, KAJI alights her carrier cart. As PETER takes control of the cart, Kaji does her whole body shake.
KAJI (V.O.): Now, I've lowered my status.
Immediately, Kaji lead the way, followed by the Pack Leader, Peter and her cart.
EXT. PET GARDEN - LATER
Entrance. Greeting Kaji, her FRIENDS lower their bodies, wagging their tails in quick broad strokes.
KAJI (V.O.): I like the ways they recognize my status.
Having entered, Kaji is unleashed.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Despite my formal dominance, I'm not despotic in any circumstances. I've never bitten any being.
Aloofly, Kaji goes to her favourite spots.
Act 2
INT. RESTAURANT BE LEAF - EVENING
Kaji, the Pack Leader and Peter are seated at a sidewalk table.
KAJI (V.O.): It's a pleasure eating out here.
Seeing CUSTOMERS sitting nearby, Kaji walks along a concrete bench to engage them. OTHERS waiting at a bus stop nearby are watching.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I feel like doing a catwalk.
CUSTOMER#1 is quick to pet Kaji's head.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel her kindness.
Later, Kaji chooses to sit in a chair by herself. Soon, two STAFF come to present treats to her.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's a form of submissiveness to me.
As Kaji hesitates to take the treats, Peter helps Kaji to it as the Pack Leader looks on.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I get a cue of approval from the Pack Leader too.
Kaji samples the treats.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My status now is above humans.
As Kaji smiles triumphantly, Peter takes a picture of her.
EXT. STREETS - LATER
Walking past an aggressive Shiba Inu that looks similar to Kaji, they hear her MASTER remarking.
MASTER: Hazel! Don't be so aggressive!
PACK LEADER: Hazel?
The Pack Leader immediately turns around to chat with the Master while the Shibu Innu is anxious to get closer to Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.): Why is the Pack Leader so exited? The Shiba Inu wants to attack me.
PACK LEADER: Peter, Hazel is our pet's half-sister!
PETER: Half-sister?
PACK LEADER: They have the same Dad!
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): What are they talking about? I'm confused.
As the Pack Leader, Peter and the Master compare the looks between them, Kaji and Hazel approach each other from the side, sniffing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): We haven't met for a long time.
PETER (to Master): Can Hazel wag her curled tail?
MASTER: Just a little, when she's extremely happy.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Apart from our tails and fur colour, I believe my look and feel are better than her.
The Pack Leader and the Master continue to chat.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've never seen her in the pet garden.
MASTER: Hazel is so aggressive that I daren't take her to the pet garden.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): If she has ever gone there, she'd have known how I'm respected there.
MASTER (Cont'd): Perhaps, that's the nature of Shiba Inu.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): All dogs, irrespective of their high or low statuses, can be actively or passively aggressive.
Soon, they part in opposite directions.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't mind not seeing her again.
Act 3
INT. PARK SIDEWALK - LATER
With the assistance of the Pack Leader, Kaji gets back up to her carrier cart being guarded by Peter.
KAJI (V.O.): Just then, my status was challenged. I didn't flight or flee. I freeze to maintain my status.
Pausing.
JKAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The measure of dominance should be based on submissiveness and not aggression.
'
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Occasionally, I'm passively aggressive too. But I've never shown any form of submissiveness to dogs.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm only submissive to the Pack Leader and the Gang, at my pleasure.
