Act 1
EXT. PET GARDEN - 19:00 (YESTERDAY)
Having got light, KAJI kicks up the grass with her paws.
KAJI (V.O.): I'm doing that as a habit.
Kicking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm not trying to cover up the mess.
Repeating.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm smart enough that I won't step on the mess I've just left behind either.
Kaji sees PETER capturing her kicking with a smart phone.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Peter and the Pack leader like to see me dancing like that.
Kaji then checks another territory.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here's my other territory.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - 14:00
Seeing Peter holding an ice lolly, Kiji wants to join him. The PACK LEADER is around.
PACK LEADER: She's not going to have any ice lolly!
Responding to the voice, Kaji hesitates.
KAJI (V.O.): I can tell the Pack Leader doesn't like Peter sharing his treat with me.
Kaji returns to original spot.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must obey the Pack Leader's command as here is her territory.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): While I smell lots of scents from the kitchen, the Pack Leader marks her territory with a little key.
Later, Kaji sees the Pack Leader presenting a treat to her.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wow! This reward is much bigger than what Peter is having.
After interacting with the Pack Leader's commands, Kaji grabs the treat and enjoys it on her floor mattress.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My territory at home is just here.
EXT. STREET - 18:15
Leading the Pack Leader and Peter, Kaji sees a white DOG and his OWNER approaching them.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.): Yesterday at the pet garden, this aggressive white dog barked at me in our first encounter.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The pet garden should be the common province of all pets.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've my territories there while using it. But the white dog can't claim the whole of the pet garden as his territory.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've my social skills to keep calm and cool though.
While Kaji is avoiding any confrontation with the oncoming white dog, we hear and see the white dog barking at Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's foolish of him to claim everywhere as his territory.
Ignoring the white dog's barking, Kaji moves on.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't react in ways that would reinforce his aggressive behaviour.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): We often go to a restaurant nearby and occupy the roadside tables.
Recalling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I find strangers occupying my territories there, I'd just check it out but won't bark at them.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I suspect the white dog was attacked, couldn't escape and sustained injury and nervous shock in the past.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): His owner's frustration and reaction have heightened his dog's fear and anxiety.
Act 3
EXT. PET GARDEN - 18:30
Kaji sees a male FRIEND in black rubbing grass at a territory.
KAJI (V.O.): Sniffing the scent, we know the age, gender, stress level and how how healthy are the marking friends.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I use my paws to scratch the grass backwards after poohing, I just want to leave my scent marking.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I want others to know who I'm and that I've been here.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Who doesn't want to leave his or her mark on earth?
