EXT. 2ND BEACH-1ST BEACH, CLEAR WATER BAY - 16:30
Having checked a beach sign, PETER walks down a path.
PETER (V.O.): The last time I came, I found the waves were too big for me.
Soon, the beach and the waves are in sight.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The water at the Silverstrand Bay is calm and the beach is accessible as I drive.
We sees dozens of SUNBATHERS and SWIMMERS.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today is Thursday. People know how to live happy.
Checking the flying beach flags, Peter sees a red one on top of a red-and-yellow one.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No swimming (high hazard) and swimming area (with lifeguards).
Walking past the beach, Peter sees another path.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It should lead to the 1st Beach, I'll return later.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, HKUST - DAY (WEEKS AGO)
COUNCIL MEMBERS including Peter are transacting businesses. A 2-member TEAM is presenting. We hear...Clear Water Bay...Guangzhou...
PETER (V.O.): HKUST (Clear Water Bay) began 30 years ago. On Sept 1 this year, HKUST (Guangzhou) has begun operation.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The main presenter is new to me. The supporting one is Tim.
We hear someone calling "Tim" from time to time. Peter stares at the CHAIR who is sitting about 10m away from him.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the main presenter is also new to the Chair, and his view of the presenter's name plate is blocked.
Having focused on the name plate of the main presenter, Peter asks for the floor and gets it.
PETER: Thank you Chair. I should like to ask Joe to elaborate on his last point.
JOE elaborates and Peter nods.
CHAIR: Thank you Joe!
PETER (V.O.): Done! The Chair is very smart.
INT. STUDY - 12:00 (EARLIER)
Peter is participating in a Webinar. A LAWER is talking on screen.
PETER (V.O.): I got the Webinar link from a friend this morning. Now I know she's the moderator.
On screen, Peter sees a message from the moderator to all participants about the Q&A session.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I should support the young actively.
Typing a question on screen, Peter responds to the moderator.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She must have prepared to ask questions. But it'd be nice if there're questions from third-party participants.
Later, we see the MODERATOR on screen and hear her mentioning "Mr Cheung"...
END FLASHBACK
Peter sees a beach in a distance and hears the sound of waves.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Like successive waves, it's inevitable the young generation will replace the old one.
Soon, we see Peter entering the swimming area as the incoming waves crash on the beach. As one wave breaks, it hits Peter's lower body.
PETER: Oh!
PETER (V.O.) : It's quite painful. I've underestimated its strength.
Peter then turns his back against another incoming wave.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, would it break my back? A German friend of mine had to undergo a surgery as a result of that...
Having endured it, Peter turns around, submerges himself into the water and swims against the flow.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having trained myself at the Golden Beach and got the psychological support of my buoy, I dare to take the risk.
After awhile, we see Peter climbing up onto the floating platform on the right, and later, the one of the left, before returning to the beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Going back shouldn't be tiring, I just let the waves carry me.
Peter follows the flow.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No one can stop the waves. And I know now their touch can be wild.
Act 3
EXT. 1ST BEACH - 2ND BEACH, CLEAR WATER BAY - 17:00
Returning to the beach, Peter captures a photo of the waves.
PETER (V.O.): The waves have their own way in making splashes.
Peter checks the image.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Between waves is my opportunity to play safe and find my new directions.
Leaving the beach, Peter sees his footprints on the sand.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Humankind is here to make waves in the ocean of possibilities.
Without changing, Peter walks up a path in the direction of the 2nd beach.
