Act 1
INT. MALL - 10:00
Seeing model cars on display in a stall, PETER stops to examine them.
PETER (V.O.): Before I could own real ones, they're substitutes.
INT. ESTATE OFFICE - 10:30
Having been given a form by a STAFF, Peter fills in the blanks.
PETER (V.O.): I'm delivering vacant possession of a car-parking lot to my son. He has bought a car and it'd soon be delivered.
Signing.
STAFF: The new access card will be operational in a couple of hours.
PETER: Good! Thank you!
Peter pockets the access card.
Act 2
EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 13:00
Peter is driving his SMART car.
PETER (V.O.): I stowed this one on Hong Kong island side for months. Now, it can stretch its little muscles.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although this fun car is 18 years old, it's the "newest" in my fleet.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since 1978, I've been owning more than one car. I hired new cars to drive overseas.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But owning is different from hiring.
EXT. ESTATE ENTRANCE - 13:30
Queuing, Peter sees a PASSER-BY staring at his car and him.
PETER (V.O.) : Only when I drive the SMART car would people engage it and me like that. Does the car I drive say a lot about me?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's interesting to know what exactly is she thinking about?
Peter drives on.
EXT. ESTATE CAR PARK - 13:40
Having parked, Peter turns around to look at the car as he walks away.
PETER (V.O.): It was a good ride. I've energized it and myself.
EXT. PETER'S NT HOME - 15:00
Peter is washing and cleaning his SMART car by the roadside and his EUNOS 30X by the front garden.
PETER (Cont'd): Sweet burden for my loved ones.
Later, Peter stows them under a covered park lane.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Mission accomplished!
EXT. STREETS OF YUEN LONG, NT - 16:45
Getting off from a green estate coach, Peter checks his orientation.
PETER (V.O.): I used to park my Ford Capri here from 1976-1980.
Walking past a building, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My office was here. I was doing squatter control, demolishing illegal structures.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was a nasty job. Apart from practising crisis management, I was wasting the prime of my life.
Then, Peter stares at the showroom of another building.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When it was Toyota's showroom in 1980, I bought my Corolla 1.6 GT and paid hire-purchase installments for two years.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When it became Nissan's showroom in 1988. I bought my Silvia 13 there. I mortgaged my Hong Kong home to pay for that.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I justified that as a reward for my promotion to the rank of Senior Crown Counsel.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yuen Long used to be my turf. Now, I feel like a stranger here.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't control the past. Nothing in life is static.
Act 3
EXT. MAIN ROAD, YUEN LONG, NT - 17:00
Having checked bus stops, Peter queues after one.
PETER (V.O.): I can keep my fleet. I can also control where I go next.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When young, I wandered and used to live to ride.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When old, I don't ride to live. I can't afford not to live for fulfilment.
Getting on board a double-decker bus, Peter goes up to the upper deck.
