INT. STUDY - 22:30
Smart phone in hand, PETER sees a video clip being compressed.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): The video clip was done around 17:30 today. I managed to send it off to a chat group before dashing off.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At tonight's HKUST function, I've taken lots of photos including some selfies to document the moments.
Seeing compression done, Peter sends the video clip to someone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He's a HKUST staff and my former student. He appears in the video clip, but he isn't a chat group member.
Later, Peter sees on screen a "Wow" response.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wow is what I aim for.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. KOWLOON TONG - SHENZHEN BAY PORT - 10:00
Peter, other COUNCIL MEMBERS, and STAFF board a coach.
PETER (V.O.): We've spent a lot of time and effort on HKUST (GZ). It's only now I've the first opportunity of seeing it for real.
Sitting by himself, Peter has his phone camera ready.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I intend to document the trip from my creative perspective.
After taking some video clips, STAFF#1 comes to Peter.
STAFF#1: Let me fill in a health declaration form for you...
PETER: Yes, please. I haven't crossed the border for over 3 years.
Staff#1 begins to type on his phone screen.
PETER: I haven't used the mainland Apps for years...
STAFF#1: Done! Let me send the QR code over to you,
PETER (V.O.): Yes, that's good service.
Opening his WhatsApp, Peter gets the QR code. He then takes a screenshot of it.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S ACTIVITIES AT THE SHENZHEN BAY IMMIGRATION CONTROL POINT
A. Using his Identify Card, Peter passes through a gate on the Hong Kong side.
B. At a mainland check point, Peter has his QR code scanned.
C. Peter then uses his mainland Travel Permit to pass through a gate on the Mainland side.
END MONTAGE
EXT. SHENZHEN BAY - GUANGZHOU - 11:00
Inside the coach, STAFF#1 passes song sheets to Peter and other council members.
COUNCIL MEMBER: It's time for us to practise the HKUST Anthem.
As the PARTY practises the Mandarin version, the Cantonese version and then the English version, Peter captures the moments.
PETER (V.O.): To document the life moments is easy; to recreate them as in movies is hard.
We hear Peter commenting on the lyrics and others' endorsing.
MONTAGE OF THE PARTY'S ACTIVITIES IN HKUST (GZ)
A. The HOSTS welcome the GUESTS.
B. After visiting the open areas, they've lunch in a restaurant's VIP room.
C. Being ferried by golf carts, they visit the campus facilities. including the Sports Centre and student halls.
D. Arriving in a bungalow, they visit the President's elegant quarter. We hear many "Wows".
E. Inside Council Chambers, they interact formally.
F. Having the last photo session at the Red Bird, they part.
END MONTAGE
EXT. GUANGZHOU - SHENZHEN BAY - 18:00
Sitting by himself inside the coach, Peter is about to rest, when STAFF#2 approaches him.
STAFF#2: Have you done your health declaration for exit purpose?
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No. I don't know about the requirement. And my phones have run out of batteries as I shot a lot of video clips...
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
PETER (V.O.): My former student and other staff helped me so that I could return to Hong Kong.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're three responses to something: yes, no and wow. To be different, I try to make my work punchy and edgy.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I spend a lot of time and effort in creating my works. I make moments return.
Having watched some images, Peter rewatches "Moments Return".
