Checking an email on screen, PETER sees the caption "My Plans".
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's from the Office of the President of Harvard University.
Peter reads the content.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): President Bacow plans to step down in a year's time.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's true that there's never a good time to leave a job.
Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The President was appointed by the Harvard Corporation. He's 70 years old.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He graduated from MIT and Harvard.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. MT. ALBURN STREET, CAMBRIDGE, USA - DAY (2003)
Peter (49) and around a dozen CLASSMATES walk from Harvard Kennedy School towards MIT.
PETER (V.O.): A classmate from NASA would invite us to join her to visit an astronomer at MIT. It should be an eye-opening experience to me.
INT. MIT - CONTINUOUS
Eye-appeal campus. Inside a room, an ASTRONOMER is passionately presenting with visual aids to the party.
ASTRONOMER: Through the images captured by the Hubble Space telescope, we see an exploding star suddenly increasing in brightness - a supernova!
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whenever I see or hear "MIT" or "supernova", I'd remember the scenes.
Checking an immediate following email, Peter sees: "William Lee and Penny Pritzker".
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Who are they?
Seeing the Harvard University logo and name on the letterhead, Peter reads on.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The incoming and outgoing Senior Fellows underscore the outcome of President Bacow's leadership.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Keeping the University's core activities on education, research and service moving forward during pandemic times.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Expanding the University's resources and ensuring a firm financial foundation.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Making a difference and contributing to a better world with the human capital nurtured by the University.
Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The Senior Fellows have degrees from Harvard.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wasn't a graduate of HKUST, but I've been it's Council Member.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When HKUST was established 30 years ago, I've already completed my targeted university education.
INT. SAIZERIYA RESTAURANT - 12:30
Peter is having a Black Truffle Mushroom Risotto.
PETER (V.O.): My plans for today were either to go to the beach or chambers. But there're rain and lightning.
Finishing his lunch, Peter checks his mail boxes with his smart phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I recall I've an outstanding task to complete for HKUST.
Having found the mail, Peter taps the attachments and sees lengthy contents.
INT. STUDY - 17:00
Working behind a laptop with tiring eyes, Peter clicks the "Send" button.
PETER (V.O.): I've spent the good afternoon to read, analyse and add value in the process - no different from the time when I was with Government.
Peter puts aside his laptop.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've sacrificed my time to play the guitar.
Act 3
EXT. SWIMMING POOL - 20:30
Peter is swimming backstroke.
PETER (V.O.): I'm so happy that I can squeeze some time to swim tonight.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While it's a privilege to help out with University governance, I'll retire in 2025 as scheduled.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm refocusing on writing songs and making music videos.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): These're my plans, till the end of my time.
Looking up the sky, Peter sees a dim moon rising.
