Act 1
EXT. TRAIN CAR - 18:00
Dressed in a suit, PETER is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Here I go again to offer free legal advice.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): People want to know their rights.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I had the sentiment. And so I took up law, self-helping myself.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I stated so in my personal statement and I said so at the admission interview of the HKU Law School.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Offering free legal advice is a work assignment I'll never refuse.
Act 2
INT. OFFICE, HOME AFFAIRS DEPT - 18:20
A STAFF leads Peter into a conference room.
PETER (V.O.) : I arrive just five minutes before time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been waiting for answers from those instructing me most of the day.
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDY/STUDIO - 11:00 (Earlier today)
Smartphone in hand, Peter checks the time.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's already 11 o'clock, and I've been reading casually, especially about the Titanic stories.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been thinking about the fate of those on board of a tourist submarine that went missing on the expedition to explore the Titanic shipwreck.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): From the stories, it's good to know that many of the dramatic scenes of the film don't measure up to reality.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The third-class passengers weren't intentionally locked up. But their survival rate was lower than first-class and second-class passengers.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're eight musicians in the sunk Titanic. They played music to calm the passengers when the ship began to sink.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Only two survived the sinking. A pianist, a bass player and three violinists perished.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, let me play the piano now.
After playing the piano for sometime, Peter stops.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I still haven't got any message or call.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me go swimming, take my lunch...
INT. STUDY/STUDIO - 16:00
Peter is checking his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.): Still no reply. Let me have a nap before doing my evening duty.
Having just set alarm clock, Peter sees a message, takes a call and does lots of follow-up actions.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At last!
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.): Here, I'll play my role as the duty lawyer.
Soon, we see Peter seeing his CLIENTS one by one. And we hear Peter's clients thanking him.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No one has made it through life without someone's help.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm glad that I still have some residual value.
Peter leaves the empty office.
Act 3
EXT. TRAIN CAR - 22:00
Crowded. Peter is standing.
PETER (V.O.): My sentiment is to do good and to serve others.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The value of my sentiment is what sacrifice I'm prepared to make for it.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've the heart. More importantly, I believe what I do makes a difference.
