Nostalgic Dreams

  1. FADE IN


  2. Act 1


  3. INT. BEDROOM - 22:45 (Yesterday)


  4. Having set alarms at 07:30, PETER begins to dictate his diary with his smart phone.


  5. PETER (V.O.): Today, I've heard something that my late wife must be delighted to hear.


  6. Pausing.


  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Through conscious simulation for nearly 30 years, I believe I've internalized her in me.


  8. Pausing.


  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Still, I'd jot down some details in my diary.


  10. Finishing, Peter puts aside his smart phone.


  11. PETER (V.O.): I've to appear in court tomorrow. Dreams are good evidence that I've slept.


  12. Peter sleeps.


  13. Act 2


  14. DREAM SEQUENCE A


  15. INT. SOMEWHERE LIKE HOME - 03.00.


  16. Seeing SHARON can't shut the front door, Peter goes to investigate.


  17. PETER (V.O.): Oh, the lock to the new door has come loose.


  18. Meanwhile, STRANGERS intrude...


  19. END DREAM SEQUENCE.


  20. Peter wakes up. The time is 04:30.


  21. PETER (V.O.): I was reliving a joyful past.


  22. Peter closes his eyes.


  23. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me focus on the door lock and see if I can chase the dream.


  24. DREAM SEQUENCE B


  25. Just a card with mathematical equations.


  26. PETER (V.O.): Maths can be creative by solving Maths problems in new ways or joining unrelated ideas to form new forms of expression.


  27. Despite Peter's attempts to modify the mathematical equations, they remain unchanged.


  28. END DREAM SEQUENCE


  29. Peter wakes up. The time is 07:00.


  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, in my second dream, I felt only seconds have passed. But I've slept for over two hours.

  31. Pausing.


  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday, I entertained a Quora answer request on how Maths can be creative.


  33. Feeling Kaji between his legs, Peter sleeps again.


  34. DREAM SEQUENCE C


  35. EXT. VILLAGE ROAD, NT - DAY


  36. Parting some worrying LAWYERS, Peter takes a car lift.


  37. PETER (V.O.): The woman driver sounds like my celebrity friend.


  38. Peter observes the driver closely.


  39. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, she's a stranger. How come I'd take her lift?


  40. Pausing.


  41. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Didn't I drive myself there? How would I abandon my own car?


  42. Pausing.


  43. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I'm dreaming now, the quick way to get out of the situation is to wake up.


  44. Immediately, Peter wakes up.


  45. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I was really dreaming.


  46. Checking the bedside clock, Peter sees: 07:28.


  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's amazing that I dreamt the third time in the last half-hour of my sleep.


  48. Peter cancels the alarms in his smart phones.


  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Get back to work.


  50. Act 3


  51. ISEQUENCE OF PETER'S ACTIVITIES TODAY


  52. A. Peter appears and submits in court.


  53. B. Visiting the Hong Kong Film Archive, Peter reads magazines, books, watches exhibitions and captures a few photos.


  54. C. Sitting on the upper deck of a ferry, Peter enjoys the harbour view.


  55. RETURN TO PRESENT


  56. INT. BEDROOM - 23:00


  57. Thinking.


  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For nostalgic dreams bridging my past and present, they're comforting, I associate with them and invite them.


  59. Thinking.


  60. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I also understand the present of today is the nostalgia of the future.


  61. Having set the alarms, Peter begins to dictate his diary with his smart phone.
