Act 1
INT. STUDY - 12:30
Looking out of the window, PETER sees a cloudy sky.
PETER (V.O.): Today doesn't seem to be a good day to go to the beach.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Should I wait for a better day? But I've to work tomorrow...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And there's no guarantee of better days ahead.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Isn't the best preparation for the future is to live as if there's none?
Packing his swimming gear, Peter exits.
Act 2
EXT. SILVERSTRAND BEACH - 13:30
Arriving near a lifeguard tower, Peter sees flags flying - a red one and a red-yellow one.
PETER (V.O.): I don't quite know what they signify.
Suspecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Has the red flag been hoisted? But the lifeguard is still in the tower.
Wearing a swimming brief and a pair of goggles, Peter focuses on the beach water.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't bring my wet suit and safety buoy. I don't think I need them.
Peter takes a deep breath.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wanting to swim now, I've cognitive bias.
Quicky, Peter swims towards one of the floating platforms in the swimming area.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Stay focus with what's in front of me, I can cope with any hazards.
Soon, Peter grabs a ladder bar and climbs up onto an empty floating platform.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here I'm, my sweet spot in Silverstrand.
Lying flat on the rocking-and-rolling swim platform, Peter looks up at the sky.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today, I don't need to put on sunblock. The ambience now is quite different.
We hear the songs of the wind and of the sea.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now is the moment, and I'll never have the same moment twice.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Setting myself free here, I've a spontaneous transcendental feel.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But if the rocking and rolling here become more exciting, I'll retreat to the shore without delay.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In any event, I shouldn't expose myself in the cold for too long for fear of suffering from hypothermia.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I worry about these as I know I've only one life to live.
We hear some indistinct sounds in a distance.
SOMEONE (O.S): Hello, hello, hello...
Tracing the source of the calling, Peter sees SWIMMER#1 emerging from the water near the outer safety buoy line about 30 meter away.
PETER (V.O.): Has he got a problem? Is he calling me for help?
PETER: Are you calling...
Peter then sees SWIMMER#2 emerging from the water, joining Swimmer#1.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A false alarm.
And we hear Swimmers#1 & 2 chatting: You say you're 75-year old...
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): They're old but strong. And they won't miss any moment.
Leaving the floating platform, Peter swims back to the shore.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Breathe, now is the moment I know for sure.
When Peter is having a bath, we hear a public announcement: The red flag has been hoisted...
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): If I heard that earlier, I might have second thoughts...But now for me, the wind and current have done and gone.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 23:00
Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Living life, there's no rehearsal.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Life is a sequence of never-again moments, I treasure each one of them.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I strive to live the moments authentically as the future is uncertain.
Peter checks his profile on his smart phone screen. We see: Treat the present as a present.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. Now is the present.
