Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 11:00
Peter's WIFE sees PETER still sleeping in bed.
WIFE: Time to wake up.
Opening his eyes, Peter checks the time.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, we've a lunch gathering with our relatives at noon.
Peter gets out of bed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday night, I had a happy dinner gathering with HKUST colleagues.
Peter is changing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And after that, we shared videos and photos capturing the happy moments.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I also published a simple post in Google Maps. I didn't go to bed until 2am.
Act 2
INT. GRAND DING HOUSE - 12:10
An city-view room. Peter and his wife appear.
PETER (V.O.): We're late, partly because of the waiting time for the lifts.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're just too many people going up to various restaurants.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our relatives haven't arrived yet. I believe the lift-waiting isn't expected.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've taken my unvaccinated Mum to restaurant for the first time since the pandemic.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although today is the 14th day of the Chinese New Year, it is still the first opportunity for some to get in touch in the New Year.
RELATIVES including a BABY (6 months) arrive. They greet each other happily.
RELATIVE#1: I bring my youngest son as you all haven't seen him yet.
ALL focus on the baby. Relative#1 lets Peter hold the baby.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I haven't held one for a long time.
Having got a good hold, Peter brings the baby close to his chest.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The burden is sweet.
But the baby starts to cry.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Fear of strangers is natural.
Peter tries to distract the baby's attention but to no avail.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't calm his stranger anxiety.
Peter passes the baby back to Relative#1.
INT. SHANG PALACE - 18:30
Peter and his wife arrive.
PETER (V.O.): The dinner is scheduled at 19:00
Peter and his wife are seated.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We didn't want to be delayed on the way. Tonight, there's no traffic jam.
MONTAGE OF THE GATHERING
A. Soon, a FAMILY arrives. And they exchange greetings happily.
B. During dinner, Peter and his wife chat with Relatives#2 & 3 endlessly.
C. The party are among the last customers to leave.
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're just too much stories to share about parenthood and other things.
Saying goodbyes.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our long conversations seem too short.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 23:00
Peter stares at a phone image of desserts.
PETER (V.O.): Good food is sweeter when shared with good people.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The power of gathering strengthens our connection and inspires us delightfully.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're more thoughtful, joyful and hopeful under the rainbow of love.
Peter looks more alive.
