PETER (V.O.): How quickly the three-day holidays flew by!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My family stayed in Hong Kong. My elder son and his fiancee made a trip to Shanghai.
Peter checks chatgroup messages on his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Winding down my operations now, I still find it hard to return to the normal routine.
Peter chats messages in social media.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I've rekindled connections either via social media or in person.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. ROADS - 23:45 (30 Sept, 2023)
In a Previa, Peter is driving his WIFE, DAUGHTERS#1 & #2.
PETER (to Daughter#1): We've had a long day. Do you want to practise your driving with me tomorrow morning? You're returning to Seoul soon.
Then, Peter remembers something.
PETER (Cont'd): Oh, I can't make it myself! I've forgotten that I've to attend the National Day reception tomorrow morning.
INT. HALL, CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE - 08:00 (1 Oct, 2023)
A big crowd of GUESTS. LADY#1 in white captures Peter's attention.
PETER (V.O.): She's Nellie.
MONTAGE OF PAST ENCOUNTERS AT THE LAW REFORM COMMISSION (LRC) 1988
A. Conference room. Peter (34) introduces a paper to a COMMITTEE including the lady.
B. Conference room. As the lady makes an intervention, Peter observes and jots down notes.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, she was an established accountant. I was just a new secretary in charge of a small LRC reference.
Counting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I haven't seen her for 35 years. She hasn't changed much and that's why I can recognize her.
Then, a GENTLEMAN bumps into Peter and they begin to chat.

A. Receptions. 2011-2013. Peter (late 50s) chats with the Gentleman.
B. Registration hall. 2017. Queuing together, the Gentleman chats with Peter (63) endlessly.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's Allan who recommended me to join a set of chambers. And I've been in private practice for over six years now.
Then, LADY#2 in a light red steps forward to shake hands with them.
PETER: Oh, you're Yvonne.
MONTAGE OF PAST ENCOUNTERS IN OFFICE
A. Office Farewell party. 2010. Playing an acoustic guitar, Peter (56) sings his song "So Long, Yvonne".
B. Promotion board. 2010. Peter responds to questions posted by the Chairlady.
END MONTAGE
YVONNE: I haven't seen you for a long time.
PETER (V.O.): I wrote my first trilingual song for her. And now, I've retired for over nine years already.
While Yvonne proceeds to engage others, we see SOMEONE introducing himself to Allan. Parting Allan to get dim sums, Peter meets up with RICKY.
PETER & RICKY: Here we meet again!
MONTAGE OF PAST ENCOUNTERS AT CREATIVE FUNCTIONS
A. "I Pledge" at Tsimshatsui. 2011. Playing electric guitar, Ricky joins Peter (57) and session MUSICIANS to perform Peter's song "My Special Way" before an AUDIENCE.
B. "I Pledge" at Science Park. 2012. Playing electric guitar, Ricky backs up Peter (58) and session musicians in Peter's song "Uplifting Everybody" publicly.
END MONTAGE
PETER (V.O.): He's the right person in the right place at the right time. Older than me, Ricky is still advancing Hong Kong's music industry.
PETER: Tell me about your role in the band "The Mystics". During the golden age of Hong Kong's pop scene 1964-1969, I was just a passive observer.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Having input the prompt: "Rekindling Connections" in an AI art generator in his smartphone, Peter sees a cubist image appearing.
PETER (V.O.): Connections once present can become distant or fade over the years.
We follow Peter to check his phone photos and see images of Peter and Ricky together.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As social beings, we interact to enjoy each other's company or to seek opportunities.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To me, meeting old acquaintances brings back memories, reminding me who I once was, and what has been shaping me.
