EXT. HONG KONG PARK - 17:45
Exiting from the Queensway Government Offices, Peter sees the Park's Fountain Pavilion.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's open and water is overflowing from the roof!
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A fortnight ago, it was closed and the water was stagnant.
As Peter walks closer to the Fountain Pavilion, we hear water splashing sounds.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Among the fountains at the Park, I love this one the most.
Watching.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's so dynamic, just like life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It also brings back lots of memories.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. QUEENSWAY GOVERMENT OFFICES - DAY (1991)
1/F. Law Reform Commission Secretariat. Peter (37) works in a corner office.
PETER (V.O.): If I need to refresh myself, I'd watch the water overflowing from the Fountain Pavilion for awhile.
Later, Peter goes to the Legal Department's Law Library next door.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I left the Legal Department in mid-December 1991 to join the Intellectual Property Department, what I missed the most was the Law Library.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since 2022, the same floor I used to work has become the High Court Library.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've just spent nearly two hours there.
Watching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm never tired of learning something new. Learning makes me feel young...
FLASHBACK
INT. JAPANESE RESTAURANT - NIGHT (YESTERDAY)
Peter, his WIFE and their YOUNGER DAUGHTER have just finished their meal.
DAUGHTER: My classmate who went to Cambridge has no problem in finding jobs...
PETER: Since you're graduating, time is ripe for Dad to share with you the conditions as to how I learned in my days...
Tapping his Facebook profile, Peter elaborates how, where and when he got the qualifications.
DAUGHTER: I didn't know you had studied Housing Management.
PETER: It was a 3-year part-time course at HKU.
DAUGHTER: And Land Administration too?
PETER: It was a 2-year part-time course at HKPolyU.
DAUGHTER: And during that time, you also studied Philosophy by yourself?
PETER: Yes. I was working full-time too.
PETER (Cont'd) Multi-learning and multi-tasking enabled me to win two full scholarships - one at HKU and another at UCL.
Daughter seems to understand.
PETER: Now, it's time for Mom to share her story.
WIFE: While working full-time, I got my BA (CityU), LLB (Peking), (LLB) (Lond) and LLM (Lond).
Daughter listens with admiration.
WIFE (Cont'd): And then I quit my job to study the PCLL full-time at HKU...
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last night, I dreamt I was about to take an LLM exam but I couldn't find my exam admission card...
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I got two LLMs at age 32-33; I've turned 68; but the exam anxiety is still with me.
Act 3
EXT. HONG KONG PARK - CONTINUOUS
Peter watches other VISITORS taking selfies near the Fountain Pavilion.
PETER (V.O.): In 1991, I was relatively young and the fountain was new.
Peter takes a photo of the Fountain Pavilion including the 1/F of the Offices at the top right corner.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Looking back, all the uplifting struggles were very satisfying.
Peter sees a COUPLE entering the Fountain Pavilion to take selfies together.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It they want to create ripples of change, they're prepared to get their feet wet.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And ripples of positive change can impact on one's life and family, and they may help change the world too.
Peter walks towards other garden fountains.
