Romanticizing Self

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDY - 08:30

  4. PETER is putting his swimming gear into a red bag.

  5. PETER (V.O.): For the rest of the Oct days, today is the only perfect day to go to outlying islands.

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):Last month, I missed visiting some beaches and places in Lantau and in Lamma.

  8. Pausing.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): How can I romanticize today's trip?

  10. Thinking.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why don't I practise ukulele while I'm at the beach? Yes!

  12. Carrying his ukulele too, Peter leaves happily.

  13. Act 2

  14. EXT. FERRY TRIP TO SO KU WAN - 10:20

  15. Few vacant seats. Peter is entertaining Quora answer requests.

  16. PETER (V.O.): Days ago, someone asked me what's the real difference between aggressive and passionate.

  17. Pausing.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Both are very strong feelings. Unlike aggressive ones, passionate feelings can be romantic.

  19. Peter takes a look of his ukulele.

  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Like writing songs, while I might have an aggressive agenda, I can't write any if I don't have any romantic feelings.

  21. Soon, PASSENGERS begin to disembark.

  22. EXT. SO KU WAN - 11:00

  23. PETER walks past groups of TOURISTS gathering before a map signage of Lamma Island.

  24. PETER (V.O.): I know my way, as I tried two recommended routes last time.

  25. Peter turns right and walks past a row of seafood restaurants.

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last time, I turned left and missed them.

  27. Walking along a path, Peter notices a cave on the left.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't miss the Kamikazi Cave this time.

  29. As Peter is taking images, we hear and see a tour GUIDE telling tour MEMBERS to stay and someone remarking "Kamikazi Cave".

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I read that it was constructed by the Japanese in 1945 to house an unknown squadron of Shinyo Explosive Waterboats.

  31. Later, Peter reaches a path fork.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last time, I took the path on the right and missed the Lo So Shing Beach - the reason I chose to revisit Lamma first.

  33. Walking along the path on the left, Peter soon reaches the Lo So Shing Village.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This old village is new to me.

  35. Following road signs, Peter then reaches Lo So Shing Beach.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At last! The water quality of this beach is said to be the best in Hong Kong.

  37. Then, Peter sees a signage: Lifeguard services have been suspended. For your safety, please don't enter water.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, what a shame! It isn't end Oct yet.

  39. As a beautiful beach is in sight, Peter sees a few BEACHGOERS but no one is swimming.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Well, I've my ukulele with me.

  41. Sitting on the sand under a shade, Peter begins to practise ukulele. We hear bright sounds of the first verse of "Fly Me to the Moon".

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm really enjoying life now.

  43. Later, having inflated his cyber-green buoy, Peter swims towards the outer limit of the swimming area.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wow, the water quality here is really good - the best among the beaches that I've visited.

  45. As he is about to reach the shark nets, Peter turns around.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't resist the temptation to enter water. Now, I've taken enough risk, and won't be ashamed to play safe.

  47. Returning to the beach, Peter takes selfies, and then he gets his ukulele.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Playing ukulele here is better than playing it anywhere.

  49. Later, Peter goes to a shade behind a facade to continue playing. Soon, he sees young WOMAN's eyes peeping at him.

  50. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, she must be disappointed to see an old man playing.

  51. Act 3

  52. INT. STUDY - 19:45

  53. Returning, Peter puts aside the ukulele and the red bag.

  54. PETER (V.O.): Playing ukulele at the beach before and after swimming was cute and fun. I can fall in love with my moments.

  55. Thinking.

  56. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Romanticizing self is possible. It's all about caring, loving and nurturing self.

  57. Pausing.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I'd try to give as much romance as I've to people who are dear to me.

  59. Tapping Google Photos, Peter checks the moments he has captured.
