  3. INT. BEDROOM - 22:30 (Last Night)


  4. Working on his laptop, PETER listens to oldies from the radio.


  5. PETER (V.O): This has been my practice since the 1980s. Uncle Ray used to be the DJ.


  6. Pausing.


  7. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): When Uncle Ray retired in his late 90s in 2021, Peter King succeeded him.


  8. Pausing.


  9. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I don't know him personally, but I like his song choices and smooth delivery.


  10. Pausing.


  11. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): But he hasn't been on air for weeks...Is he on a long vacation?


  12. We hear news: Beloved radio personality Peter King has passed away at the age of 69...


  13. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): OMG...


  14. Act 2


  15. INT. LAW OFFICE - 14:00


  16. A STAFF leads Peter, a CLIENT, an INTERPRETER and a TRAINEE to a room.


  17. STAFF: Mr Cheung, a trainee will sit in your session today.


  18. PETER: No problem.


  19. PETER (V.O): I learned International Protection Human Rights as early as 1980s and have been practising in the field.


  20. Later, having finished their professional work, Peter chats with the interpreter.


  21. PETER: I like your name, Tai Mui.


  22. TAI MUI: You're so professional. Were you educated in UK?


  23. PETER: Yes, Hong Kong too. I'm 70 years old.


  24. TAI MUI: I'm 80 years old. My fellow interpreters are younger than me.


  25. PETER: Working with you, I feel young too!


  26. PETER (V.O.): But it's embarrassing that having just been introduced to the trainee, I forgot her name right away.


  27. EXT. SILVERSTRAND BAY - 16:45


  28. Peaceful scenery. Peter strolls along the beach.


  29. PETER (V.O): Here's heaven on Earth.


  30. Pausing.


  31. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Peter King, gone too soon.


  32. Peter heads towards the water.


  33. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I’m enjoying life while I still can.


  34. Pausing.


  35. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): When I can't swim in the sea anymore, I'd thank myself for doing it now.


  36. INT. LIVING ROOM - 18:00


  37. Opening his school bag, Peter takes out his Korean homework.


  38. PETER (V.O): Learning Korean has become a big challenge to me.


  39. Recalling.


  40. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Whan I was in my 20s, I had no problem learning Philosophy and Law.


  41. Peter reads the questions.


  42. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): For a while now, I feel my working memory is getting worse.  My recent Korean dictation exercise results evidence that.


  43. Pausing.


  44. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Attending the Korean classes, I find my processing speed has declined considerably.


  45. Pausing


  46. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I've to accept the unavoidable and irreversible changes that accompany aging.


  47. Pausing.


  48. PETER (Cont'd): After all, I'm not living in eternity.


  49. Pausing.


  50. PETER (Cont'd): What I've is the present, and it's like an ice cube melting in a hot summer day.

  52. INT. BEDROOM - 21:00


  53. Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Seize the Day..." to a draft.


  54. PETER (V.O): Life is fragile and can end unexpectedly.


  55. Thinking.


  56. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I work hard and smart, but I'm not afraid to shift my priorities for a better life.


  57. Reflecting.


  58. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Now, I'm quick to say no to anything that doesn't truly matter to me!
