FADE IN
Act 1
INT. ESTATE LOBBY - 10:15
Getting out of a lift, PETER is about to exit.
PETER (V.O.): The Observatory forecasts the weather will turn bad soon.
CARETAKER#1 is at a counter.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope I can swim in the sea for a while.
CARETAKER#1: The amber rainstorm and thunderstorm signals are up.
Nodding, Peter slows down his pace.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At breakfast, I read that to be healthy, one'd exercise 150-300 minutes per week.
Retreating.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Due to cleansing, the nearby indoor public swimming pool will only reopen at 19:00 today...
Act 2
INT. STUDY/STUDIO - LATER
Having screen time, Peter also sees the sky outside getting more gloomy.
PETER (V.O.): The stock market is falling too. Apart from placing "buy-low" orders, I'd place a few "Sell-high" orders, as the market can be unpredictable.
Tapping phone screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having visited Macao last Sat-Sun, I think the casino stocks should do well. My wife and I will go to Macao again in May and in June.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday at Tsimshatsui, I saw many tourists. Chain-stores selling gold stuff should do well too.
Tapping phone screen.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Done! Time to practise playing the piano.
Watching an online piano tutorial, Peter plays the verses of "A Summer Place" on piano.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Little by little, I'm progressing.
Later, Peter watches an online Japanese tutorial.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Learning Japanese makes my visits to Japan more meaningful.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife and I will visit Osaka again in Sept this year. I haven't fixed my solo trips in July and August yet. I like the Okinawa islands.
We see raining outside and hear some thunderstorms.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't mind the rain, but I'm afraid of thunderstorms which can be sudden and deadly.
Peter checks his profile in Google Maps.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh! I haven't written a review on Shimonada Sunset yet.
FLASHBACK
EXT. SHIMONADA STATION, SHIKOKU - 18:00 (28 March 2023)
Station car park. Seeing a vacant slot, Peter parks their silver seden.
WIFE: We're so lucky!
Soon, Peter and his WIFE join the CROWD to capture photos and videos of the setting sun in the clear orange sky.
PETER: This's the first time seeing the sun kissing the sea like that.
WIFE: It's my second time! My first time was in 2001 when we're staying at the Shangri-la Hotel at Kota Kinabalu.
PETER: I was playing with the kids in a swimming pool... I wrongly believed I could watch the sunsets the following days.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.): But the sun hid behind the clouds thereafter.
Focusing on the setting sun.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before our arrival, my wife was uncharacteristically nervous that we might miss the setting sun.
Enjoying the beauty of nature.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Softly, this cool evening in Shimonada comes with a beautiful sunset.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While every day can end beautifully, one may not be in the right place and at the right time to witness it.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For my world from age 20-60, it moved just too fast, and I lost myself in maintaining order in the chaos.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. ESTATE LOBBY - 20:30
A wet-haired Peter returns.
PETER (V.O.): I've just swum. I'd be able to have 150-300 hours of exercises per week.
CARETAKER#2 is at a counter.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today, I didn't see the sun. But I'll chase beautiful sunsets anywhere.
Taking a lift.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I'll continue to live colourfully like the sun.
