  5. PETER (V.O): Life is full of ups and downs. It's true that without the downs, the ups would mean nothing.

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): For the downs, I don't admit permanent failures, but I accept temporary setbacks.

  8. Pausing.

  9. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Learning from temporary setbacks, I strive to create new opportunities.

  10. Pausing.

  12. Pausing.

  13. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I've also set clear boundaries to protect my time and energy - saying no to additional commitment when necessary.

  14. Act 2

  15. FLASHBACK

  16. INT. A COUPLE'S HOME - 19:30 (Yesterday)

  17. Coffee table. Picking up a 2023 Harvard Business Review, Peter flips through the pages.

  18. PETER (V.O.): I like to read its articles, some insights can be timeless.

  19. Then, his eyes widen.

  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Micro-stresses? That sounds intriguing.

  21. Reading.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Micro-stresses are those small, subtle stressors that affect our overall well-being.

  23. Pausing.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What are the common examples of micro-stresses?

  25. Reading and pausing.

  26. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Dealing with traffic congestion, crowded public transportation or long commuting times...Yes, during rush hours in Hong Kong.

  27. Reading and pausing.

  28. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Uncomfortable temperatures, cluttered spaces, noisy neighhours...Hongkongers get used to them.

  29. Reading and pausing.

  30. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): High workload, multitasking, deadlines, non-collaborative workmates...Workplaces are competitive.

  31. Reading and pausing.

  32. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Constant connectivity, excessive notifications, stay updated with emails, messages and social media...All feel them.

  33. Reading and pausing.

  34. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Self-imposed high standards, achieve personal goals or strive for perfection...Those are my stressors too.

  35. Reading and pausing.

  36. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Dealing with bills, managing expenses and worrying about financial stability...I wish to lose less money in Hong Kong stocks.

  37. Reading and pausing.

  38. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Navigating social situations, conflicts or feeling the need to constantly please others...Yes, "may it please the court..."

  39. Reading.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While each micro-stressor may seem insignificant on its own, the accumulation of multiple small stressors can have a cumulative effect on a person's well-being.

  41. Pondering.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When the brain perceives such micro-stressors, would it release stress hormones to prepare the body for the "fight-or-flight" responses?

  43. Pausing.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My hunch is that the micro-stressors can still elicit stress responses in the body, although in a milder degree than acute or severe stressors.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, coping strategies include: self-care, time management, spending time with loved ones...I do a lot of positive self-talk.

  47. Seeing the COUPLE coming out from the kitchen, Peter refers to the magazine.

  48. PETER: You two should read the article on micro-stressors.

  49. They look a bit loss.

  50. PETER (V.O.): Am I creating a micro-stressor for them?
